Page 1: Super Fly Trap Pickle Jar

HOW TO KILL 10,000 FLIES WITH A PICKLE OR MASON JAR

How do I do it?

– Take any pickle jar, or mason jar with a metal lid and glass walls.

– Drill a hole in the lid the size of a pencil.

– Half fill the jar full of water, and place 1 piece of RAW chicken into it.

– Put the lid on, and place away from people, and away from your house.

– Other baits do not compare, stick to RAW chicken only. Water is needed

to assist the decomposition.

How does it work?

Nothing will happen for 2-3 days, that is until the piece of chicken begins torot. Once it does rot, especially on warm days, the flys can sense the ordor,

and will travel aggressively over long distances to climb into the hole in the lid

(following their olfactory cells in their antenna and palps).

Why do they not get back out?

For some reason, a fly will take flight in a direction of travel towards the sun,and will bump endlessly against the glass walls of the jar in their attempt until

they expire.

– The jar will fill up, empty and dispose of.

Test Case #1

– Author lived ½ block from feed lot mill. Mill was dumping reject feedstock by the ton, and leaving on the road behind the mill. Over 120 flies

were counted on sun deck alone a couple weeks after large feed stock

dumping. Drastic measures were required, as feed lot mill was

uncooperative. Three jar traps were set out at back of property, and all

three filled up by end of season. By end of year, and year following no

more than 1-2 flies would be noted on sun deck on a warm comparableday. It worked!

Domestic flies, often called "Filth Flies," are not only a nuisance by their presence, butare important from a human and animal health standpoint. House flies may spreaddiseases such as conjunctivitis, poliomyelitis, typhoid fever, tuberculosis, anthrax, leprosy, cholera, diarrhea and dysentery. - Ohio State University Department ofEntomology HYG-2111-96
