STORYTELLING FOR USER EXPERIENCE

     Interested  in  learning  how  to  craft  a  compelling  project  pitch?  Curious  as  to  how  to  describe  your  work  in  different  contexts?  Eager  to  discover  the  value  of  your  own  stories?  Looking  for  a  fresh  perspective  on  the  design  process?    Join  master  storyteller  and  user  experience  designer  Kevin  Brooks  in  a  hands-­‐on  workshop  of  story  exercises,  design  activities  and  creative  problem  solving.  Hosted  by  AME’s  Reflective  Living  Group,  this  dynamic  2-­‐hour  workshop  will  introduce  participants  to  a  host  of  storytelling  strategies  for  enriching  the  design  process.  The  first  10  students  to  sign  up  for  this  free  workshop  will  receive  a  unique  pack  of  storytelling  cards  developed  by  Kevin  and  Whitney  Quesenbery!    Date:  Friday,  October  14     Location:  StaufferB  123  Time:  9.30am  –  11.30am     RSVP:  [email protected]     Kevin  Brooks  is  a  User  Experience  Designer  for  Motorola  and  a  professional  oral  storyteller.  At  Motorola  Kevin  researches  new  technologies  and  user  interfaces,  portraying  and  prototyping  them  using  various  media,  as  connected  user–centered  experiences.  Working  for  the  Home  division  of  Motorola,  the  part  of  the  company  that  delivers  video  into  peoples’  living  rooms,  finally  watching  hours  of  TV  per  day  as  a  kid  is  paying  off.    As  a  writer  and  performing  oral  storyteller,  Kevin  writes  and  performs  personal  tales  from  his  urban  childhood  of  the  60's,  his  70's  adolescence,  80's  adulthood,  90's  parenthood  through  to  his  present  day  life  post  children.  Kevin  received  his  PhD  in  Media  Arts  and  Sciences  from  the  MIT  Media  Lab,  where  his  area  of  research  was  computational  narrative  and  interactive  cinema.
