founded with the name

Sorenson Vision, Inc. to

address the market

1998 Apple Computer

licenses the Sorenson

Video 1 (SV1) codec for

inclusion in the Apple

QuickTime video player,

establishing a new and

2000 Sorenson Vision

re-launched as

Sorenson Media.

2002 Sorenson Spark is the

first codec included in

Macromedia (now

Adobe) FLASH, enabling

Sorenson Squeeze for

FLASH, allowing

developers to adjust

Sorenson Media joins

forces with D-Link to

develop the DVC-1000

i2eye videophone, the

first low-cost,high-quality

videophones available for

the mass market.

introduces the first VRS

Phantom Menace teaser

movie trailer in
