– Horizon 2020 and SMEs Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever with nearly EUR 80 billion of EU funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020), in addition to the private investment that this money will attract. It promises more breakthroughs, discoveries, and ‘world-firsts’ by taking great ideas from the lab to the market.
– European Structural and Investment Funds The new European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) will dedicate around EUR 110 billion to innovation activities, ICT, small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) competitiveness, and the low carbon economy. Regions have to develop smart specialisation strategies prior to receiving ESIF funding for projects in the area of innovation. This process should allow regions to concentrate their investments on their comparative advantages.
– European Fund for Strategic Investments The Investment Plan for Europe aims to revive investment in strategic projects around Europe to ensure that money reaches the real economy. The Investment Plan will be driven by the European Fund for Strategic Investment (EFSI) to help speed up economic recovery and boost investment and growth in Europe.
