INTERNATIONAL BIRD RACE Organized by Frazer Hill Development corp. ,WWF malaysia and Malaysian Nature Society.
• Each group contains 3 participants
• Watch and count number of birds seen within a specific confine and within a stipulated person
• Team provide bird logbook with appropriately marked columns for reporting observations.
![Page 37: Site analysis of The Paddock, Fraser's Hill](https://reader036.vdocuments.site/reader036/viewer/2022062818/568c57c91a28ab4916cbe334/html5/thumbnails/37.jpg)
P R O S :
• Attract Birders from the United Kingdom, China, Hong Kong, Australia, South Africa and other countries to Pahang.
• Increase the income • Healthy and enriching activity for bird racing enthusiasts.
• Promote Fraser Hill.
![Page 38: Site analysis of The Paddock, Fraser's Hill](https://reader036.vdocuments.site/reader036/viewer/2022062818/568c57c91a28ab4916cbe334/html5/thumbnails/38.jpg)
C O N S :
• If not well maintained, pollution will bring negative effects to F.H.
• Increase in temperature to the cool highlands will attract the lower montane birds, like hornbills, to go higher up the highlands.
• Birds that relish and live in cool climates will die or disappear when they migrate to
other cooler areas.
![Page 39: Site analysis of The Paddock, Fraser's Hill](https://reader036.vdocuments.site/reader036/viewer/2022062818/568c57c91a28ab4916cbe334/html5/thumbnails/39.jpg)
S O L U T I O N :
• Preserve and maintain the environment, its ecological systems and forests.
• Don't allow commercial greed to deprive future generations from enjoying the variety of melodious songs and the multitude of vibrant colours of birdies in Fraser's Hill.
• Provide information regarding the international bird race to bring awareness to the public
![Page 40: Site analysis of The Paddock, Fraser's Hill](https://reader036.vdocuments.site/reader036/viewer/2022062818/568c57c91a28ab4916cbe334/html5/thumbnails/40.jpg)
• Fraser Hill’s incoming visitors is gradually decreasing due to competition with Cameron and Genting Highlands
• Except for jungle trails/bird watching, other attraction are being dominated by CH & GH
• Not attractive enough towards majority teens – adolescence

A N A L Y S I S
• This area is moderately steep • Low stability but most accessible • Narrow space
• Located at the highest point (most potential) • Easily accessible: safe for elderly & children • Limited area of space (to be considered when constructing the
bird watching tower) • High probability to be affected by landslide
• This area is moderately steep • Wider space (barely any
obstacle when considering designs)
• Located at the lowest point. • Flat land. • Extremely damp • Potential flooding area
• Many design restrictions • Structures may sit elevated on
piers/coloumns • Building designs structures may be terraced/ stepped with the slope (prevent landslide)
• Building design should be built higher as it is located at a lower level
• Consider safety precautions • Create a proper path
inidication as the road is misleading
• Building design should be built higher as it is located at the lowest point.

The gravel pathway forms a harder surface than field for people to walk through, low maintenance
The sand pathway is only for the horses during horse riding as it is more comfortable for the horses to walk on it
This Asphalt road is the main road in The Paddock that leads from the main entrance until the forest behind. It is easier for the use by humans and vehicles

• Regular maintenance.
• Create a songbird Border
• As the bird watching activity will be at the same area with the other activities it would be preferable to open the bird watching activity at a different time when there’s not much circulation

The best place for a bird watching tower is the site behind the paddock ( site2- 3) as there is a
Verity Of trees which will attract more birds and less humidity. Furthermore it is a quiet place far from noises and an open area good for observation.
