PCCGerontology’sHorticulturalTherapyProgrambeganin2008incollaborationwithLegacyHealthSystems,andwasledandinspiredbyTeresiaHazen.OurprogrampreparesstudentsforHorticulturalTherapist-Registered(HTR)designation,andprovidesstudentsstillworkingonAHTAHTRrequirementstodeveloptheknowledgeandskillstoworkastherapeutichorticultureactivityspecialistswithdiversepopulationsinavarietyofsettings.WhatthePCCHorticulturalTherapyProgramOffers• ATherapeuticHorticultureActivitySpecialistCertificateof38(term)credits,includingthecorehorticulturaltherapycourses,aswellasactivity,psychology,andgerontologycoursesdesignedtopreparestudentstoworkwitholderpersonsinlong-termcare,memorycare,seniorandolderadultcenters,parksandrecreation,andresidentialsettings.• Thecore13creditsofhorticulturaltherapycoursesandthe36creditsofhorticultureandhumansciencecoursesrequiredbytheAHTAforHorticulturalTherapist-Registered(HTR)status.• Internshipopportunities,meetingAHTAstandards,supervisedbyan
