Scotch Plains HauntedTwo Spook Houses Overflow With Ghosts and Goblins

With the mimicry inheraniin all children and with an in-genuity born of desire, Guy Bud-inaeak, son of Mr. and Mrs,Frank Budinscak of 1285 WhiteOak Road, Scotch Plains recreat-ed the Spook House that caughthis fancy last summer.
Necessity proved to be themother of invention for thiseleven year old boy who svasin a quandary creating a SpookMouse without a building to houseit. With brilliant inspiration, helocated the ideal spot, the threefoot high crawl space under hishome that had a built-in eerieeffect and crossbeams and sup-ports for passageways,
Stumped without the money ormeans needed to buy or build aride car to transport future cus-tomers, Guy utilized the frameand wheels from an old carriagecreating a movable car that svaslow enough for the close quar-ters,
Aiding him in making his dreamhouse come true were his palsTommy Sheean, age 9, and GaryShunk, age 11, who were firstdrafted as laborers and laterserved a s living spooks andguides.
After hanging creepy dang-lers and filling the corners withdummies made out of old clothes,the boys dug out their Halloweencostumes and with the aid ofmasks and makeup, prepared toscare visitors to the Spook Houseout of their wits.
Neighborhood children attend-ing the pre-Halloween opening ofthe Spook House were chargedthree cents admission. The littlegirls got'goose bumps'just stoop-ing down and entering into thedark hole of a doorway and ihebraver boys had 'chills' run upand down their spines when areal Mummy jumped out at them.
The Spook House proved to bea great success and among thechildren enjoying the delightfullyscary fun was Greg Anderson,age 9, son of Mr. and Mrs,Sheldon Anderson of 1995 MaryBeth Court. He also went homeinspired and persuraded h i smother to allow him to use thebasement of their home to setup his own Spook House, Heexcitedly told his sister Kim,age 6, of his plans and rounded
up workers including CynthiaSlpe, age 8; David Grant, age10; Peter Welgley, age 11; andjimmy Weigley, age 7, to putthem Into effect.
Following much the same pat-tern as had Guy Budinseak butwith many Innovations of theirown, the gangs' Spook Mousegrew overnight, perhaps with theaid of a few witches making anearly Halloween call. Children
flocked to the house in drovesso that everywhere Mrs, Ander-son looked there svere littlepeople and the pitter-patter oflittle feet sounded more like aherd of horses.
At press time we hadn't heardof any other Spook Houses goingup but we feel certain after thisissue hits the streets many amother will be hearing, "Morn
