At Ivy Tech, you can earn a variety of two-year degrees as well as one-year technical certificates. Before you enroll, check with your local campus to see what types of degrees or certificate programs are available in your area of study. An admissions counselor can help you choose an option that matches your career aspirations.
The associate of aPPlied science (aas) degree prepares students for a career.
The associate of arts (aa) degree prepares students to transfer to a four-year college or university. The curriculum is almost entirely made up of general education and liberal arts courses.
The associate of fine arts (afa) degree prepares students for transfer to a related program at a four-year school or a career in the fine arts.
Two kinds of associate of science (as) degree programs are available: programs for technical/professional fields and for liberal arts. AS programs in technical and professional areas prepare students to start their career or to transfer to four-year institutions. AS liberal arts programs prepare students for transfer to four-year colleges or universities.
The certificate can be completed in fewer credit hours than other types of academic programs. Certificate programs prepare students to sit for a certification exam in a short amount of time, and are offered in fields most likely to lead to employment or promotion.
The technical certificate (tc) is a one-year program that provides education in conceptual and technical skills for specific occupations.

where you’ll learn to customize messages for specific audiences
and environments. Your classes also will teach you how to plan
