3G & LTE GTP DECODING AND ENCODING
o 3G & LTE protocol encapsulates user data in GTP
o GTP must decoded first to allow optimization and acceleration
o The platform is composed of three layers:
o Bridge Interface - Filters and captures all IP/UDP/GTP and SCTP traffic. Traffic not matching the filter continues across the bridge
o GTP - 3G/LTE Tunnel Tracking - Processes the signaling messages and manages the GTP tunnels between the base station and the core network
o Applications – Optimization, Byte Caching, TCP Acceleration & Offload are the applications that process the traffic received from the GTP layer

OPTIMIZATION 2G, 3G & LTE BACKHAUL
o RAN Optimization solution processes mobile traffic using a multi-stage optimization algorithm designed specifically for mobile networks
o Optimization OPEX Results:
o Voice Optimization: Savings typically 40% to 50%
o Data Optimization (Hub to Remote): Savings typically 15% to 35%
o Data Optimization (Remote to Hub): Savings typically 25% to 45%
Queue Mapping
•Three queues, these are High, Medium, and Low
•Each of the queues is configured individually with parameters including the aggregation period and the maximum packet size
Packet Aggregation
•Combine multiple small packets into a single “large packet” before sending the traffic to the WAN link
•Packet Aggregation save up to 50% of the bandwidth
Header Compression
•Mobile network aware version of Header Compression treats the upload and download backhaul paths independently, supporting multiple IP route QoS network architectures
Packet Compression
•Proprietary lossless compression algorithms, specifically designed for mobile signaling and data packet service, are applied to all outgoing WAN traffic
63
TCP ACCELERATION 3G IUH & LTE BACKHAUL
o Significantly increases throughputs up to 30x in both Upload and Download speeds
o Better subscribers Quality of Experience (QoE) and Faster downloads
o Agnostic to any TCP protocol, application or traffic
o Minimizes effects of latency
o Improves RAN and network performance and significantly reduces retransmissions
o Also improves throughput speeds on encrypted traffic

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY ABOUT UHP?
o Packets per second of HUB and remote with LTE Optimizer
“We HIT the system with 128.000pps @64byte and the system was able to handle it without a single packet lost, there is no satellite modem on the marked that support that load”
o Fast start up
“UHP reboots and come back online in ~12 seconds so despite the Base station disconnect and reconnect the calls are not drop ( just 12 seconds of silence)”
o Robustness of QoS
“Having a 45Mbps OC and 5Mbps IC; We tested QoS with 7 Priority Levels where HUB was loaded with 400Mbps of Level 1 traffic (both sides) and system was able to process and transmit higher Queues without problems”
o Low Jitter
”With Current TDMA frame configuration, the system was supposed to have a max jitter of 15ms. However, when the Load tests were in progress Jitter never went over 2~5ms”
o Quick resolution of issues
“Certain issues were faced during thorough LTE approval tests (in some extent it was expected); other vendors took weeks to fix similar problems and UHP fixed it in a matter of hours”
