Austin Coulter received a unanimous vote Sunday to become our Minister to
Middle School and Senior High students. Austin has already been serving in the youth ministry as a volunteer and has done a fine job leading and teaching in Sunday School, on Sunday and Wednesday nights, and during youth activities. Austin has a passion for
youth ministry and has also been very involved in mission trips and in serving the senior
adults of Sand Spring through the Job Jar ministry. Austin will be working in the coming months to complete his bachelor’s degree and will then begin his seminary education.
I want to say thank you to the members of the Youth Minister Search Committee. Brian Franklin served as chairman. Other members included Blake Drury, Bob Works, Bobby Montgomery, Jeri Chenoweth, Fran Williamson, Wendi Pierce, and
Susan Richey. We also had 2 youth representatives on the committee - Zachary
Carmichael and Abby Vaughn.
Your Pastor, Mike
Hey Sand Springer’s,
You responded to our needs tree for the Galilean
Home Ministries we had in the atrium last Sunday in a
huge way. Thank you. If you didn’t get an egg off the
tree, we have placed more choices back on the tree. That trip isn’t until May 12th. We
have placed tubs under the tree in the atrium for your items.
Don’t forget to give your money to me and sign up in the atrium for the Senior
Adult Living Celebration on April 28th at Parkway Baptist Church in Bardstown, KY.
We’ve had 3 people pay their deposit for the Summer Fun in the Smokies trip.
With those 3 and Julie and me there are only 33 spots left on the bus. I’ve put a full
information sheet on the table in the atrium. The dates are July 6th – 9th. The cost is
$451.00 per person for double, $381.00 per person for triple, and $345.00 per person for
quad.
What you will get for your money: Three nights lodging at the Main Stay Suites,
hot breakfast included daily, lunch at the Old Mill Restaurant, dinners included at
Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant / Lumberjack Feud Dinner Show & Hazard County
Hoe Down Dinner Show. Shows at Country Tonite Theater / Blackwood Morning
Variety Show / Lumberjack Feud Dinner Show / Smokey Mountain Opry Show / Titanic
Museum and Attraction / Hazard County Hoe Down Dinner Show. There will be a
sign-up sheet next Sunday. In order to hold your spot, I need a $100.00 deposit. Church
members get first opportunity. Then I’ll open it up to others. Blessings, Ellery Honduras Fundraiser Luncheon
