History of San Antonio de Padua
*Father Junipero Serra found the mission
*Mission compound is located 23 miles SW of King City (off highway 101)
*The mission was founded on July 14, 1771

Daily Life At San Antonio de Padua
• Indians , Native Americans, Padres and soldiers lived at mission.
• They helped build a storehouse, chapel and rooms for padres and soldiers.

Special Features

• Something unique about San Antonio de Padua is that so many people worked hard to make it look good.

• Fray Juipero Serra hung the bell in an oak tree in the seclulded valley.
• Most of all the buildings are made out of adobe bricks.
• They made the cementary 153x125 ft. surrounded by a high thick wall of stone, topped with adobe.

Mission TodayMission San Antonio de Padua looks like a small town today. It is one of the best restored out of all the missions.
