I bring a sense of humor and calmness to my workplace. I have worked at a wide variety of jobs, and developed the skills to succeed in all of them. I helped raise the three wolves that came to the Oregon Zoo in 1995, and have worked with two large packs of wolves in a research and education facility, along with a heard of bison, and several foxes. As a co-worker in providing Customer Support/ Training, Heather is highly competent, hard working, and reliable. When my primary duties as an on site trainer limited the time I had available to research a solution to resolve a client issue Heather was always willing to take on the extra task of troubleshooting and testing options in our software to ensure the client was taken care and received the best solution possible. I counted on her knowledge and service orientated attitude to assist me in the field. Heather never let me down. Heather’s patience with difficult clients is unequaled. During our time of sharing office space I had the opportunity to listen to Heather while she worked with clients on the phone or during web training. Frequently these sessions were with clients other support reps avoided due to the difficulty personalities represented. Heather always rose to the occasion; through her patience and ability to communicate ideas clearly and confidently, she converted these clients to some of our strongest users and loyal customers. Recently I was given the task of training the local Customer Support team in new software. Heather was the first to embrace the changes and quickly became the lead support person for that software in our Reedsport office. Very quickly she gained knowledge of the new product to the point of assisting me in the training of her peers. She was also the leader in developing and implementing web training for this product. She took on these additional duties without losing her effectiveness in her previously assigned duties. The day we lost Heather Michel to our company due to a merger was a day of loss. Letter of Recommendation #2: June 28, 2007 To whom it may concern: In my current position in marketing and former position as Programming Department manager for Wicks Broadcast Solutions, I have had the pleasure of knowing Heather Michel for the last five years. She has been a tremendous employee and an asset to our company. I would like to take this opportunity to briefly explain her qualifications and my recommendation of her. At WBS (now called Marketron), her responsibilities included: • answering customer service calls relating to operational issues with the software system we sell • performing in-depth software demonstrations on all Wicks products for clients of all sizes • conducting various types of online trainings for such clients at CBS Radio, Entercom, Salem Communications and other large companies in the radio industry • building a comprehensive online class database of over 80 recorded and live classes • training in house staff • coding and publishing a corporate newsletter with distribution to more than 5000 clients • Assembling a comprehensive internal documentation system for customer service to use in their daily activities • translating software documentation from English to Spanish as needed • writing and proofing documentation for distribution to clients as needed Heather effectively balanced her workload at all times while maintaining good rapport with co-workers and clients alike. I know the term is often over-used but Heather truly fits the bill as a "team player". June 1, 2007 Heather Michel came to work in the Customer Service department of Wicks Broadcast Solutions in March, 2002. Heather quickly showed her value to the team. She proved to be outstanding at learning new technology and mastering software and Internet tools to improve the productivity of the department and the image of the company overall. Heather is both intelligent and well-organized. She learned all our company’s software products and became the main point of reference for secondary level of support for many of them. She worked with radio groups in both large and small markets. Each site had its own requirements and Heather was able to adapt and tailor her approach to each market and each person within a customer’s organization. She also had special skills that enhanced the output of customer service. She knows Spanish and could interact with our Hispanic customers in whichever language was most comfortable for them. She learned HTML protocols and developed a monthly eNewsletter for our customer base. Perhaps the most impressive of Heather’s accomplishments was that she developed an online training program for our customers. She pre-recorded many standard training sessions and she offered “live” online training. This greatly enhanced the value of our products. In May, 2007, our company went through a severe restructuring and many positions were eliminated. Sadly, Heather’s position was one of those eliminated. I worked with Heather for several years at the same company once called CBSI, then Wicks and later Marketron Broadcast Solutions.
