Reagents forHistologicaltechniques,Haematologyand Microbiology
2
PanReac AppliChem has a full range of products for histology, haematology and microbiology, which includes the most commonly used reagents in the process of preparing samples for examination under the microscope. With this range, all the stages of fixing, clearing, paraffin inclusion, staining and mounting are covered.
The majority of the products used in this technique are encompassed in the Clinical Diagnosis quality, with the CE mark in compliance with the provisions of the European Directive on products for “in vitro” diagnosis.
Reagents for Histological techniques, Haematology and Microbiology
Stages ofHistological Technique
1 The range includes the majority of reagents used for this purpose, starting with the classic and commonly used buffered formaldehyde, in a wide range of packaging formats. As an alternative to Formaldehyde we recommend using the new Histofix® Substitute of Formaldehyde in the technically viable applications, in order to minimize risks to the health of the user.Other fixing agents are also available for specific applications, such as Carnoy or Bouin Fixing Agents, all of which are manufactured with the most widely accepted formulas.
Fixing
2 Drying and ClearingThe range of solvents for the drying stage includes different types of alcohols, chiefly ethanol, in different, ready-to-use concentrations and other solvents used for this purpose. All are specially purified and subjected to stringent quality control, to prevent the presence of particles that could cause artefacts in the preparation of tissues. The range of clearing agents includes the classics: Xylene, Citrosol, and other solvents, together with Isoparaffin H, a Xylene surrogate, non-aromatic, practically odourless, and much less volatile than Xylene.
3
3 InclusionParaffin inclusion is widely covered with paraffins with different melting points, that meet the majority of needs in this field.
4 StainingThe most commonly used stains are available in ready-to-use solutions, complemented by over 30 powdered dyes for preparation of any kind of stain with maximum flexibility. All the dyes are subjected to stringent quality control, to ensure maximum reproducibility in the preparation of the stains, preventing colour differences between different preparations. This is particularly important for prepared solutions, where the concentrations of dye or pH are specifically controlled, in order to ensure maximum contrast and homogeneous colour brightness lot after lot, with special emphasis on the different available formulations of hematoxylin-eosin and Papanicolau dyes for cytological studies.
The range includes different Kits: Gram staining in microbiology, Fast staining in haematology, Kit for staining Reticulin fibres, PAS staining and Masson’s Trichromic staining.
5MountingA wide range is available, from classic mounting media, Canada balsam and DPX, to the latest Mounting Medium for Xylene Surrogates, indicated for use in conjunction with Isoparaffin H. All of them with one purpose: to ensure perfect preservation of the preparations over time.
All in all, PanReac AppliChem offers you a complete range of products for pathological anatomy, with the maximum guarantee to ensure safe, reliable results in the histo-pathological process, thanks to the top quality and stringency of products designed specifically for this purpose.
