Principal’s Report
Welcome Mr Pudya to Quandialla Public School.
Brady Pudya has joined us from Brewarrina
Central School and has settled in well. He is
loving our wonderful students and how welcomed
he has been made feel in the community.
Thanks to all those that supported our school
Book Fair last Wednesday, $580 worth of books
were sold. Thanks also to the parents and staff
that brought along some morning tea to enjoy
with the students in the sunshine.
Last Thursday Rachael Gillard from Grenfell
brought out some books that had been kindly
donated from her sister who is a teacher in
Canberra. The donation was much appreciated
and has added to some of our collections in the
library and also classroom readers.
On Friday Summer, Scarlett, Matilda, Adelaide
and Sienna travelled to Forbes to participate in
the Lachlan District cross country. The girls had a
very successful day with all of them being placed
within the top 10 in their races. In the 8 & 9 years
girls we had Matilda 1st, Adelaide 2nd and Sienna
7th, Scarlett came 5th in the 10 year girls and
Summer came 10th in the 11 year girls. Matilda,
Adelaide and Scarlett are all off to Geurie on the
12th June to participate in the Western Region
cross country. Congratulations to all these
students on a wonderful effort at Forbes.
Next Monday we have a Musica Viva group
visiting at 1.30pm, they will perform March of the
Fire Ants at the Quandialla Memorial Hall.
Families and community members are most
welcome to come along and enjoy the
performance.

Also on Monday, at 11.30, Quandialla Public
School will be playing Caragabal in the first round
of the Small School Touch Football Knockout
Competition. Come along and cheer on our team.
On Thursday 6th June our students will perform in
the Henry Lawson Festival Play Day at the High
School. We are yet to get a time for our
performances but will hopefully have this by the
end of the week. Please get the notes back in that
were sent out last week so we can make sure all
children will be there and transport is organised.
Currently we have 9 students travelling on the
bus with room for only 3 more.
To round off an incredibly busy week the students
involved in the Forbes Small Schools Choir will be
travelling to Caragabal next Friday for their first
practise. A note will go home tomorrow with
details and a contract for both students and
parents to sign.
This term the 3-6 class have been busily learning
words from the Premier’s Spelling Bee wordlist.
On August 1st we will be holding our school
Spelling Bee to choose 1 student from stage 2
and 1 student from stage 3 to progress to a
regional final. The following is a link to the
Spelling Bee page:
the.artsunit.nsw.edu.au/premiers-spelling-bee,
password: pizza, this will give students access to
the spelling lists so they can practise at home and
challenge Mum and Dad.
