Audition
• Every prospective choreographer auditions• Past choreographers are not automatically chosen• Audition process:• Panel: President, Vice President and our Advisor,
Bobbi Sue• Show us 30 seconds of your choreography• Teach President 8 counts of your choreography• Choose dances that will create the most diverse show• You will hear back from us via email within the next
two days

Choreographer Expectations
• Relay information from E-Board to your class• Be prepared for class and treat your dancers with respect• Represent the club in a positive light• Attend any mandatory choreographer meeting and events• Your dance/class is a part of MCDE, please check with
me if you would like to use your dance for anything outside of the club
Dancers
• Minimum number: 24• Please be open to taking more dancers
• Dances to fit all levels of dancers! • You are the determining factor of the MCDE
experience, so please respect all dancers and make your class enjoyable for them
Choreography
• Must be entirely YOURS• No plagiarism
• Keep it appropriate• Appropriate for the level you want your dance to be• Have formation changes• 9 weeks to teach and clean, so manage your time
well!
Music
• Must be appropriate (please keep it clean )• 3 minutes max• Song cannot have been used in the past 4 years • If a senior can remember it, it can’t be used• If you’re not sure or have song questions, ask Devan
Tookmanian • Show can not have more than 2 songs by the
same artist• We’ll contact you if there is issues
Costumes
• Be creative and colorful!• Can’t ask for more than $10 from each dancer• Costumes in storage• All costumes must be approved by Marianne• Do not tell your dancers their costumes until they’re
approved
Practices
• One hour scheduled class per week• Aerobic Studio or SC Dance Studio• Club Rule: cannot miss more than 2 practices• Factors into priority points• Use to your discretion
• Can hold extra practices• Cannot be mandatory
Speakers
• SC Dance Studio• College Activities Speaker• Go to College Activities is something isn’t
working/missing• If they can’t help, then contact a board member
• Aerobic Studio• Three speakers in closet• AUX Cord• Contact us IMMEDIATELY if something is
missing/not working
Choreographer Meeting
• There will be a mandatory meeting about 1 month before the show• Costumes, music, and final roster are due
Strike System
• If something is not handed in on time you will receive a strike
• If you are teaching people who cannot make your designated class time you will receive a strike
• 3 strikes and you will not be allowed to choreograph again next semester
• Receive strikes via email
Strikes
• Failure to respond to all emails from dancers after sign-ups
• Failure to send your roster to the club account• Failure to hand in music on time • Failure to hand in costume template on time • Not going to the choreographer meeting • Numerous complaints from your dancers • Not attending mandatory choreographer events
• Auditions will be the within the first two weeks of school• Have a great summer we can’t wait to see what
you bring in the fall
