!This!is!a!Family!Weekend!event!sponsored!by!the!Native!American!Studies!Program!

Parents!and!families!are!invited!to!meet!Native!American!Studies!Faculty!&!Students!!Students!in!the!course!Native!Art!of!North!America!have!chosen!Southwest!pottery!from!the!collections!of!the!Longyear!Museum!of!Anthropology.!!They!have!researched!their!selections!and!written!illustrative!labels.!!The!pottery!includes!examples!from!many!Pueblo!cultures!–!including!Hopi,!Acoma,!Zia,!Jemez,!and!Laguna!–!as!well!as!Apache!and!Navajo!vessels.!!They!date!from!prehistoric!times!to!the!present.!!!Students!will!give!brief!presentations!about!their!research!at!the!reception.!!
