Problem description Better water management: decrease amount of unused

water.

Reducing manual data entry.

Inputs Defining wells available in the system (farms).

Defining each Pivot daily water requirements.

Defining daily total irrigation water needed (Quantity).

Define Data needed to be reported by pivot staff.

Page 4: Potatos irrigation and water management

Methodology We are working on 2 different aspects

1. Irrigation water management system.

2. Data collection system.

Irrigation water management system.

Let the pivot staff report the quantity sucked from each well and other information on regular intervals and submit it through the mobile application.

The server collects data from all pivots and once daily limit is reached, pumps turned off.

A water distribution system takes control from here, in which it open and close valves to distribute water to the nearest pivot.

Water Distribution system In which there is pipe lines between pivots.

Each line ends with a digitally controlled valve which can be operated on on/off/percent modes.

Once there is an excess water sucked from one well, it will be redistributed to the nearest pivot that haven’t got its daily requirement yet.

Data collection system.

• An agent that takes the data from the server and transfer it to the current expert system.
