STATE TIMES NEWSKISHTWAR: Army in its ever persistent efforts to foster har-mony and peace and to connect the masses to the nationalcampaign of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and develop sense ofhygiene and sanitation in the region organised a 'SwachhPakhwada' at village- Chhatru, Kishtwar Distt on Tuesday. Atotal of 57 locals participated in this venture.
The event was to educate the students, youth and locals toaccomplish the vision of a clean and serene Nation. The localswere made aware about the nationwide cleanliness campaign.The locals were educated on the importance of keeping thesurrounding clean and following good civic habits. Emphasiswas also laid on construction and use of toilets and propergarbage disposal.

STATE TIMES NEWSUDHAMPUR : In the ongoing bid to foster harmony and talentamong the youth, the Indian Army organised a Drawing andPainting Competition on the theme 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' onTuesday at Government Middle School, Hasote of Reasi District.
A total of 80 students participated with vigour and unbridledenthusiasm. Students creatively used the platform as a means toaddress the crucial issue of environment conservation. It washeartening to see a number of children, especially girls, forward toshowcase their talent which demonstrated their concern for thecause. The event was followed by prizes distributed to those secur-ing top three positions and a special consolation prize for the mostenthusiastic participant. All other participants were also givengifts to boost their morale and lift their indomitable spirit.

On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner distributed careerbooklets among the participants which contained career relatedinformation with more than 20 different career options the stu-dents can one opt after schooling. "This program will coverabout 15 GHSS covering more than 1700 girl students of class11th and 12th in the district" she informed. She said that girlchild protection as well as girl education is being given primaryfocus under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme' so that OurGirls can come forward and help in nation building'.
