ROTARY INTERNATIONAL THEME IN 2009-2010
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
ROWENA “Jing” SARAO
Dear RCMSL Family,
Last week was an equally busy week for all of us. After all
the relief operations in Taytay and Calawis, we decided to
also donate books especially to the schools affected by
the flood. We went to 4 schools in Taytay namely:
Bagong Pag-Asa Elementary School, San Isidro
Elementary School, Taytay Elementary School Unit I and
Taytay Elementary School Central. San Isidro Elementary
School is the most affected school wherein most of their
books in the library were damaged by the flood. The
estimated cost by the Principal and the librarian is about
700,000 pesos. The books we donated were courtesy of
Books Across the Seas (BATS) of RC Makati.
We also distributed around 300 relief goods with RC Metro
East Taytay to student in Taytay Elementary School
Central who were affected by the flood. You can see in
the faces of the children how happy they were when they
received the little help we extended to them.
Some pictures of the event last October 10 were also
submitted to RI as contributions to Rotary Day in Photos.
