Peterbilt provides secure spare connections for Power-Ignition-Ground, but these connections require a mating adapter.
This adapter is available from a number of sources, with Peterbiltthe cheapest at around $10.– Peterbilt Part #16-09171– Two are required per install, one for
constant power and one for ignition sense.
If no adapter is available, you can connect with a standard blade but be sure it is well secured against vibration or accidental removal.

Power Connections
Splice the Constant Power (red)
and Ground (black) to one locking
power plug and the Ignition Sense
(white) to the red of the other.
Connect the Ignition Sense plug to an
open spare port on the forward (Switched
Power) row, selecting one of the right 3 to
avoid the Low Voltage Disconnect circuit.
Connect the Constant Power plug to an
open spare port on the rear (Battery
Power) row, selecting one of the right 3 to
avoid the Low Voltage Disconnect circuit.
Connect the Constant Power plug to an
open spare port on the rear (Battery Power)
row, selecting one of the right 3 to avoid the
Low Voltage Disconnect circuit.
Connect the Ignition Sense plug to an open
spare port on the forward (Switched Power)
row, selecting one of the right 3 to avoid the
Low Voltage Disconnect circuit.
Fusing
Fuse the positions corresponding
to the Constant and Ignition power.
10 amps for Constant Power
5 amps for Ignition Sense
Fuse the positions corresponding
to the Constant and Ignition power.

J1939 Engine Data – All VehiclesLocate the J1939 backbone
black/blue connector with
yellow/green wires behind
the ignition switch.
Connect the PMG 2-pin
using the two “PACCAR”
pigtails from the 2-pin kit.
Connect the PMG 2-pin
using the two “PACCAR”
pigtails from the 2-pin kit.
If the vehicle connector comes apart
showing 4 pins and a resistor, remove
that piece from the black 2-pin and
reinsert it in the blue female connector.

J1708 Engine Data – Pre-2010 Model YearsIf the vehicle was built before model year 2010,
connect the black 2-pin J1708 to the block
behind the ignition switch. If the vehicle is 2010
or newer, this connection is not needed.
Antenna
Secure the antenna on top of all
center-dash wiring and modules using
the tape provided and a zip-tie.
NOTE: If no secure mount is available,
move the antenna to the top of the air-
ducts above the glove-box.
Display Mount Option 1
If central dash space is
available, attach the RAM
mount using bolts and large
washers or a backing plate.
Display Mount Option 2
If the dash provides no mount
space, attach the RAM mount
to the passenger’s side using
bolts and large washers or a
backing plate.
Route the cable into the
dash below the glove-
box being sure the
cable isn’t pinched.
PMG Mount
Bundle any extra
cabling in the open
central dash space.
Mount the PMG to the
back of the central air-
duct using 2-sided tape
and a zip-tie or screw.
