Cost of interring pet ashesThe cost of interring pet ashes is £60.00plus VAT. If you wish to have a plaqueplaced on the memorial feature, this isincluded in this charge. However, youmust supply the plaque yourself.Only memorial plaques of pets interred inthe Wild Flower Meadow may be placedon the memorial feature.
Memorial plaques are to be maximumsize of 175mm wide x 75mm high. Thewording on the plaques is subject to theapproval of the Council.
The scattering of pet ashes is notallowed in this memorial garden.

Only pet ashes can be interred in thismemorial garden and these must beaccompanied by a certificate of cremationfrom a licensed crematorium. The ashesmust be placed in a bio-degradablecontainer; such as wicker, willow,cardboard, etc. As a wildflower memorialgarden; no tablets, kerbstones,memorials, planted flowers or shrubs areallowed to be placed on the intermentlocation.
PlaquesPlaques may be placed on the memorialfeature for a period of 10 years.Alternatively, plaques may be placed on abench or stake adjacent to a memorialtree located within the meadow at anextra cost.
Wild Flower MeadowWith this in mind, the Council havedeveloped a Wild Flower Meadow in thebeautiful setting of Cherry OrchardJubilee Country Park where the crematedremains of pets can be interred.
The Area is a five acre enclosed wildflower meadow, complete with an oakmemorial feature where plaquescommemorating these pets can beplaced.
The Wild Flower Meadow can be foundon the left-hand side of the main car parkas you enter the park from CherryOrchard Way, Rochford.
Interment of Pet AshesYou are welcome to attend the intermentof your pets ashes, and a small bunch offlowers, hand tied with raffia or a similarbio-degradable material (no plasticwrapping or pots are permitted) may beplaced on the interment site on the day ofinterment only.
Pet Memorial AreaThe death of a pet can be a verytraumatic and distressing time for manypeople.
Rochford District Council understandsthat many pet owners wish to lay theirpets to rest in an area where they canvisit and remember them.
