These patterns are for any key if you use the red root note as the starting point.Because the red notes in this example are all G, then these 5 patterns are all in the key of G.

( If you slide the whole pattern up 2 frets, then each red root note is an A, so the whole pattern becomes the key of A etc. )

= root note 1 = individual notes of scale
