Dear Dawn Lakers,

The May 1st meeting will

be our last get together for

the summer months. We

have a tentative date of

December 4th for the next

Board meeting. There are

several internal issues to consider for

2014 that will enable the Lake govern-

ment to function more effectively.

I would like to acknowledge Sue

Born for her tremendous help and

assistance to me in transferring the

responsibilities required by the Presi-

dent. Now that I am in this part way, I

realize I have some pretty big shoes

(not feet) to fill.

Our Board is committed to continue

the highest quality performance and

accountability as demonstrated by our

predecessors. We are supported by

incredible volunteers and folks who

want to see Dawn Lake truly a great

place to live.

I invite you to continue with your

input and cooperation.

The Board extends its best regards

for a joyful and cool summer to all and

safe travel.

SWAN REPORT

Recently one of the swans had a fish-

ing lure hooked in her neck and beak

trapping her head to the side with the

line tangled in her web feet. Thanks

to the vigilance of Kurt Neilson and

Dave Goita, the lure and line were

removed. Please be mindful of the

beautiful swans when fishing.

Anyone wanting a swan feeder please

contact Iris Kovach (623-324-7889)

or Karen Hailey (623-939-8437). BOARBOARBOARD OF DIRECTORSD OF DIRECTORSD OF DIRECTORS

LAKE WALL REPAIRED

The lake wall committee had a 10 ft.

section of the lake wall at Dock #48

repaired as it had pushed up about

four inches from the one foot apron.

Frank Boucher and Gene Weber

received bids from several contractors

There are four or five other sections

of lake wall that have substantial hor-

izontal cracks that will probably have

to be repaired in the next 12 months.

Homeowners are asked to be diligent

in ensuring that there is no growth

within three feet of the wall. If the

wall cracks due to growth being too

close to the wall, the homeowner will

be responsible for the cost of the

repairs.
