Preaching Jesus and the Resurrection Paul in Athens: Part 1
Acts 17:16-21
In this passage, we see a bit of what happened
when Paul was in Athens…
3 truths to observe:
1. Paul saw that the city was given over to idols
2. Paul reasoned with the people in the synagogue and in the
marketplace
• He preached Jesus and the resurrection
3. Paul encountered some interesting people
• Epicureans
• Stoics
• Others who wanted to hear “something new”
Key verses: 16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was pro-voked within him when he saw that the city was given over to idols. 17 Therefore he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and with the Gentile worshipers, and in the marketplace daily
with those who happened to be there. _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________

| Grace Ministries International (GMI)
GMI exists as a ministry of Grace Community Church to facili-tate our missionaries toward meeting our biblical obligation to "make disciples of all the nations" (Matthew 28:19).
At its heart, GMI is absolutely committed to the inerrancy, authority, and sufficiency of Scripture. As such, we look to God's Word alone in determining our theology of missions.
The following outlines the focus of our missionary efforts.
•Leadership training •Church strengthening
•Church planting •Bible translation
FCC supports missionaries Jeremy Bustle and Alberto Solano through GMI.

| GELAH RAZ— Revealer of Mysteries
Daniel 2:28 (NKJV)
28 But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, were these:
Life is full of mysteries and uncertainties. The one thing that is not a mystery is our Almighty God and the truth He brings to our hearts and minds. Thankfully, we can trust that God knows exactly what each of us needs to know and when we need to know it.
God in heaven, You are the One who knows all things. There is not one secret or mystery you do not know. As Gelah Raz, I can trust that You have or will reveal to me all I need to know to live a life of love and obedience to You. Amen.
