YarraBend delivers exceptional accessibility and connectivity. In addition to train stations and bus stops nearby, the Eastern Freeway can take residents into the city in just 15 minutes.
These existing connections are set to be easier with VicRoads undertaking a $110m upgrade of the Chandler Highway between YarraBend and the Eastern Freeway. This significant project will provide direct access for residents to all major arterials as well as shorter travel times to the city in peak hour.
For a more scenic route, the Main Yarra Trail also passes the southern border of YarraBend, offering cyclists a picturesque commute to the city.

YarraBend will be home to four distinct parks, each with a different focus. Inspired by New York’s High Line, and named as a reinterpretation of the site’s industrial past, The Paper Trail is a pedestrian and bicycle friendly connector that links to walking and cycle paths both within and outside YarraBend. DKO MDGMDG Landscape Architects, established in 1992, is a highly regarded and experienced practice led by Barry Murphy, Andrew Moyle and Simon Smith. The work of MDG ranges from broad scale land and strategic planning projects to detailed landscape design, including design and delivery for a large number of residential developments.
MDG strives for an appropriate balance between the environment and the requirements of those who will experience the spaces we create. Its highly skilled team translates that insight into design outcomes which are imaginative, engaging and functional, as well as being environmentally responsible. This approach ensures each project has a distinctive identity and sense of place with the aim to create dynamic and functional solutions of the highest quality.
Since opening its doors in 2000, DKO has grown from a small but dedicated team into a practice of over 140 design professionals working out of multiple offices in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. While the practice has expanded, so too has thebreadth of projects undertaken, from landmark mixed-use developments to bespoke residences, luxury resorts, retail interiors, community churches and large-scale masterplanning.
