Abstract:
This document first introduces the specification for naming ODUs and the
definitions of the types of ODUs, and then describes the performance parameters
of ODUs. The performance parameters include the frequency band, transmitter
performance, receiver performance, mechanical performance, and power
consumption.

Chapter 1 Overview
The ODU is the outdoor unit of the microwave equipment. The ODU primarily
converts the frequency of signals and amplifies signals. ODUs are available in a
wide variety of types and can be classified in terms of the frequency band, sub-
frequency band, Tx high/low station, and transmit power. The performance
parameters of an ODU vary according to the type of the ODU. This document first
introduces the specification for naming ODUs and the definitions of the types of
ODUs, and then describes the performance parameters of ODUs. The performance
parameters include the frequency band, transmitter performance, receiver
performance, mechanical performance, and power consumption. After readers read
this document, they can learn the information of an ODU from the type of the ODU,
and can find the detailed performance parameters of the ODU in the corresponding
performance parameter table quickly.

Chapter 2 Nomenclature
2.1 Nomenclature
The name of an ODU indicates the frequency band and type of the ODU. The
standard name of an ODU is as follows: OptiX RTN 600 XXG-YY, where "XX"
represents the frequency band and "YY" represents the type of the ODU. For
example, the standard name of the 18 GHz standard-performance ODU is "OptiX
RTN 600 18G-SP".
Table 1-1 lists the defined "YY"s. More "YY"s shall be added into Table 1-1 in
future according to the planning of ODUs.

2.2 Defining the Type of an ODU
The type of an ODU defines the operating frequency band, type of capacity, T/R
spacing, sub-band, Tx high/low station, and type of power.
The label indicating the type of an ODU is affixed on the side of the ODU, as shown
in Figure 1-2 . Figure 1-3 shows the label.

As is evident from Figure 1-3 , the type of the ODU is "15S0420APS". The
meanings of the characters and numbers in "15S0420APS" are provided in Table 1-
1 .

As is evident from Table 1-1 , the ODU shown in Figure 1-3 is a standard-power
and high-capacity (SDH) Tx high ODU that operates at sub-band A of 15 GHz and
has a T/R spacing of 420 MHz.

This section describes the frequency band, transmitter performance, receiver
performance, mechanical performance, and power consumption of the ODU.
3.1 Frequency Information
3.1.1 SP series ODU
The SP series ODU supports the 7/8/11/13/15/18/23/26/38 GHz frequency band.
