Staying in touch is vital in business today.
In fact, many employees are so used to using
their cellular handsets off-site, they continue
to use them on-site. Another increasing trend
is for managers to spend more and more time
away from their desks. In response to these
needs, Alcatel has developed the Cellular Client
Application.
“Cellular Client” enables your employees to use
their individual cellular phones on-site, while
also benefiting from all the main features offered
by the Alcatel OmniPCX 4400, thus improving
internal staff communications; just one of the
many advantages.
Benefits for the end-user:a quick return on investmentIncrease efficiency, productivity, and satisfaction
Each employee has a single phone number
(single call number service) so there is no need
to waste time by dialling several phone numbers.
Issues can be solved more easily together, and
you can therefore respond straightaway to any
problems.
Alcatel OmniPCX 4400 Cellular Client Application
Improve your customer care
By helping to establish immediate contact with
the right person on their cellular phone, “Cellular
Client” guarantees that your customers get the
answers that they need, when they need them.
Save on the cost of your “international” calls
Cellular users can take advantage of the Cellular
Client Application to benefit from better cost
routing on the corporate private network or fixed
operator tariffs. So, with “Cellular Client”
the return on your investment is quicker than
with all other solutions.
Full integration into your favouriteOmniPCX 4400 systemIntegrated within your OmniPCX 4400
The Cellular Client Application is connected to your
current OmniPCX 4400, assuring that your cellular
handset is fully incorporated within your corporate
communication environment.
Full compatibility
Any standard cellular phone from any manufacturer
can be integrated into your existing system.

ALCATEL 2>
Extensive access to your advanced enterprise servicesCellular users can access most of the
advanced services of the OmniPCX 4400
(see Main Features list).
Automatic voice mail notification
Can be forwarded to your cellular
handset. You can also reach your
OmniPCX 4400 wherever you are in the
world. Your correspondents no longer
need to leave two messages on two
separate phones when they want to
reach you – you can just listen to one
voice mail box.
The twinset service
This is also available between your fixed
Reflexes™ set and your cellular phone.
How do you access your main office features? Your cellular phone is simply an
extension of your Alcatel OmniPCX 4400,
giving you access to a large number
of features such as call transfer,
conference, call-back when busy, etc.
Accounting consolidation
on Alcatel OmniVista 4760
This is available when using “Cellular
Client”. The Alcatel 4760 accounting
module can process every call made
by a cellular handset.
This means that you can choose which of
your two sets you will use to answer a
call. When one of the sets is busy, the
other one is also assumed to be busy.
The “Cellular Client” has access to
the Alcatel CTI application Alcatel 4980
You can display and control incoming
cellular calls, edit the archives of
previous calls logged, and, of course,
make outgoing calls. You can also
consult your voice mail directly from
your Alcatel 4980 application.
Attendant features
Intrusion, busy lamp, camp on busy,
call-back to attendant on un-answered
calls, and info center features are all
available.

How does it work? The Cellular Client Application integrates
most cellular phones optimally into your
existing corporate network. You operate
as if you were wired into your company.
As a result, you benefit from the greatly
expanded communications potential and
flexibility that cellular phones offer to
business users when they are off-site.
Your cellular phone is automatically seen
as a regular extension by the corporate
network. Therefore, you benefit from all
of its advanced features:
When calling from a cellular device
To access the features of your Alcatel
OmniPCX 4400 with your professional
cellular handset, you just dial the
incoming access code - D.A.S. (Direct
Access Selection).
You can secure your access with a pass-
word (pin code) that allows you to enter
the OmniPCX 4400 environment
immediately. Depending on the cellular
phone, it’s possible to store both D.A.S. +
pin code in the terminal’s memory, giving
you smoother access to the features
offered.
All of the main features (see Main
Features list) that are offered by your
OmniPCX 4400 are available with
the Cellular Client Application. For
instance, call forwarding can be carried
out using specific prefixes (already
defined by the OmniPCX 4400 system.)
When calling a cellular device
To communicate with a “Cellular Client”
all you need to do is dial your colleague’s
internal number, or the DDI number if
you are calling from the public network.
All calls to or from a “Cellular Client” are
controlled by the OmniPCX 4400, which
also provides features such as supervision,

manager/secretary, and even acts as a call

The OmniPCX 4400 can natively
manage analog and digital extensions,
DECT and cellular handsets, IP phones,
and PC softphones. As a result, full voice
& data, and fixed & mobile integration
has now become a reality. Furthermore,
the switching part of the system delivers
99.999% quality of service. This means
that Alcatel guarantees that no more than
1 call in 100,000 will be dropped at the
switching level.
With each new release of the
OmniPCX 4400, existing cellular phones
will automatically benefit from all of the
new features.

Technical specificationsFeatures available in communication mode

to the Alcatel OmniPCX 4400 (phone
number + password) and is
in communication mode, the caller can
carry out most of the functions offered
by their fixed Reflexes™ set.
• Your cellular handset doesn’t
necessarily require any special service
from local or national carriers.
• All of the following functions can be
initiated by ‘#’ followed by a key function.
For example:
#1: Cancellation of inquiry call,
equivalent to selecting the key
function End2°A / EnqOff on your
Reflexes™ set.
#2: Activation of inquiry call, equivalent
to selecting the key function 2°Call /
Enquir on your Reflexes™ set.
#3: Conference call or end of conference
call, equivalent to selecting the key
function Conf on your Reflexes™ set.
#4: Broker call between two users,
equivalent to selecting the key function
Broker on your Reflexes™ set.
#5: Transfer call, equivalent to selecting
the key function Transf on your
Reflexes™ set.
#6, #7:, #8:, #9: Are reserved.
#0: Ending an ongoing call - no connection
between an OmniPCX 4400 and
the cellular handset (return to
the dialing mode).
System capacities
• 15 cellular sets and 15 simultaneous
cellular communications
per “Cellular Client” board.
• Each cellular set uses two virtual
digital (UA) interfaces, which must be
taken into account in the full capacity
of the system. These virtual
interfaces are accounted for in
the OmniPCX 4400 SW licenses
in the same way as the actual
Reflexes™ sets.
System capabilities
• No OmniPCX 4400 release
dependency.
