F-TWG Mission and Organization
• To provide guidance to help steer New York State’s efforts to advance offshore wind energy development in an environmentally responsible way. The F-TWG is intended to assist in the development of offshore wind energy in a way that protects the state’s and region’s valuable fisheries and fishing communities.
• The core working group includes members from the fishing industry and wind energy developers. Technical advisors to the F-TWG include representatives of state agencies, federal agencies, and fishery councils.

Transit Lane Workshop Goals
• Explore the interests and needs of commercial fishermen in transiting through and around the New York Bight
• Explore how these transit lanes may interact with proposed Wind Energy Areas
• Engage agencies, fishermen, and developers in exploring interests and options
• Identifying and to the extent possible prioritize potential lanes and overall packages of lanes for future consideration by agencies and developers
