PROGRAM DESCRIPTION This one-‐day program is designed to meet the educational needs of the perinatal and neonatal nurse as well as other healthcare professional working in these areas. Through presentation and discussion, the program will provide new information and research that can be applied in the clinical setting to improve patient outcomes.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this program, the participant will be able to:
• Identify medical and feeding issues associated with the late preterm infant.
• Describe the feeding and tolerance issues related to NAS.
• Identify therapies for managing nutrient intolerance in the newborn.
• Define specific body gestures.
• List five skills for coping with stress.
• Identify three challenges of generational diversity.
• Describe negotiating skills for achieving success.

Marion Kay, BA For over thirty years, Marion has been an independent consultant to national corporations offering customized training. She writes and presents training programs on communication and human relations subjects: skills of active listening, verbal and nonverbal communication, team building, stress management, conflict resolution, assertiveness, and time management. She frequently delivers presentations to healthcare professionals with an energetic and enthusiastic style.
Carolyn Kusenda, MS, RD, CNSC Carolyn is Assistant Director, Clinical Nutrition and Patient Services; Regional Clinical Nutrition Manager at Children’s National Medical Center/Morrison Healthcare Food Service, Washington, DC. She is a registered dietitian with extensive years of advanced neonatal, pediatric and adult clinical and nutrition support management experience. She is skilled in the nutrition support management of adults, pediatrics and neonatal populations; quality assessment and performance improvement, positive systems change initiatives and the establishment of policy, procedure and standards of practice. She is experienced in clinical nutrition and patient services management and is an accomplished practitioner, manager, educator and trainer who has been published and is an experienced speaker.
