Rebuilding and preserving our developments
We’re committed to building 10,000 units of affordable housing. Our 100%
program is currently at 12 developments.
To raise badly needed money for repairs, we’re building mixed
income housing at Holmes, Wyckoff, and La Guardia

Current approach: • Convert units to Section 8 on turnover (in Annual Plan)• Developments not fully converted until 2026• Buildings continue to deteriorate

New approach: PACT• Convert residents to Section 8 voucher assistance• Retain many public housing rights;; gain Section 8 benefits• Substantial improvements to buildings• Ensures long-term affordability and reliable funding
Plan:• 8 developments, 5,694 units• First bundle – Baychester and Murphy (both in the Bronx)• RFP for developer and property management company • Resident engagement began at the end of July

By July 30, 2018 NYCHA must implement a smoke-‐free policy that prohibits the use of cigarettes and other prohibited tobacco products in certain areas:§ Public housing indoor common
areas (already covered)
§ Administrative office buildings (already covered)
§ Public housing units (NEW)
§ Outdoor areas within a 25 foot perimeter of residential and administrative buildings (NEW)
