From The Principal
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Congratulations on a fabulous celebration of Education Week and Book Week at Corowa South Public School. We had a magnificent week of learning and highly engaging activities to highlight 2019 NSW Public Education. Our school strongly resonates and embeds the Education Week theme of “every student, every voice” throughout the whole school year.
Education Week is a celebration of student empowerment and how the NSW Public Education system gives students the skills they need in order to have and express a voice during their own educational journey and as engaged citizens.
I was delighted to chat with our many visitors, parents and future student enrolments about our students’ amazing learning opportunities and achievements.
We had many zany book characters in our parade who definitely reinforced that READING IS MY SUPERPOWER for the students of Corowa South Public School.
Good luck to Ella Webb representing our school and district at Sturt PS Wagga on August 26th in the 2019 Riverina & Western NSW Regional Final.

This week Baryugil students have been celebrating Book Week and Education Week, completing various fun and stimulating activities alongside their daily learning. In English students have been working on their writing and self-editing skills and in Maths students have been working on place value and estimating.
With Book Week upon us here is a quick reminder to keep bringing in your Home Readers every day for circulation. Notes for the Pygmy Perch and Altina Wildlife Park excursion are due back ASAP please. Have a great week of learning.

This past fortnight has been action packed! Class Gilaa have been working towards some fantastic results with our number recognition, as well as our efforts with learning ordinal numbers. Within our science topic we have been discovering what different animals look like with a variety of describing words. In Health last week, students shared their knowledge on personal hygiene practices and how they apply it within everyday use. In Sport, students have been learning classic ball games and number games to develop their skills with moving their bodies. Thankyou to all our visitors for Education Week. All the students had a blast as well as myself!
On Wednesday 21st August, our class will have a visit from Rebecca and her dog Nova from the Responsible Pet Ownership Program.
Just a reminder, Library Wednesday for this term and Sport on Friday.
Mr McIntyre, Class Teacher
This week as part of National Science Week, we have been focussing on all things to do with Space in our classroom. This includes creating artworks based on images taken from the Hubble Space telescope, and writing a journal article from the perspective of an Astronaut, heading on a mission into space. In Science we will be looking at the planets in our Solar System and how they are different to Earth.
Good luck to our PP5 Relay team of Ella W, Ella R, Mackenzie and Kieesha as they compete next week in Albury at the Regional Carnival.
