Principal’s Report
Term 2 concludes this Friday. I would like to thank everyone who has assisted with the many programs that have
been conducted this term. A big well done to all the teaching & ancillary staff who continue to do an outstanding job
in ensuring that all of our students are catered for. There have been a large number of extra curricular activities
provided this term including NSW PSSA Knockouts for six teams, debating and chess competitions, robotics, strings,
band, choir, photography workshops and we have also had a number of excursions and incursions along with our
Stage 3 Bathurst excursion. We also held our Community Connections Evening.
All of these activities have been organised by the dedicated staff and supported by both our ancillary staff and
parents. Thank you to everyone who has provided their time and their expertise.
On Friday our Rugby League Team played against Umina PS in the fifth round of their NSW PSSA Knockout. The boys
won a hard fought game 10-8 and now progress to play Wamberal in the sixth round which will determine the
Central Coast team to move onto the State Finals. Well done boys & Mr Jarmaine and Mr Daly.
Congratulations to Millie Parker, Girls Hockey, Archie Mesritz, 12yrs Rugby League, who represented Sydney North
PSSA at their respective NSW PSSA Championships last week. Both Millie & Archie were great representatives for
both our school & the Region. Millie’s team finished 4th and Archie’s finished 8th.
Our PBL rewards day will be held after lunch this Friday with the students participating in a wide variety of activities
using stellars earnt so far this year.
We have had concerns raised by local residents about the behaviour of some of our students riding bikes to and
from school. We have spoken to all students who ride their bikes to school reminding them of the road rules and
being safe whilst travelling to school. I would ask that you follow up these conversations at home.
This Wednesday twelve of our Yr 6 students including our SRC members will be attending the Kincumba Learning
Community Leadership Forum at the Avoca Beach Surf Club. During the Forum the students will hear guest speaker
Adam Spence & the captains of Kincumber HS speak about leadership and then they will be involved in three
workshops. They will then work on leading projects at the school in Term 3.
Good luck to our Girls Football team who play Bateau bay PS tomorrow in the fifth round of their NSW PSSA
Knockout. The game will be played at Pat Morley Oval mat Bateau bay kicking off at 9.00am.

PBL Week 10 – Toilets This week our PBL focus has been on how to be respectful and responsible when using the school toilets. Students have recognised the importance of considering other student's privacy and always leaving the toilet area clean. Our school expectations require students to take toilet breaks during recess, lunch, before, and after school where possible. If a student needs to use the toilet during class time, they must always seek permission and return to class promptly.

Leave-Travel’ can be collected from the office. Once completed please return to the Principal at least two weeks
prior to the leave then an approved ‘Certificate of Extended leave - Travel’ will be issued. The original certificate will
be signed, copied for school records and returned to parents. You need to carry this certificate during your leave, as
it must be produced when requested by police or other authorised attendance officers.
VOLUNTEERS AT OUR SCHOOL
Volunteers play an important role in the daily school routine. Please be aware that the Department of Education
requires all volunteers to complete a Volunteer Declaration and provide Proof of Identity that meets the 100-point
check. We are updating our records in accordance with these requirements, ask that anyone who is currently
volunteering, or planning to do so in the future, complete the attached declaration, and return it to the office along
with your 100 points as soon as possible. This not only applies to in-school volunteers but also anyone that at any
stage may be transporting our students to offsite activities.
For parents transporting students to offsite activities please be aware that we still require copies of both your
current driver’s licence and current vehicle registration. This documentation must be provided prior to the activities
and is required even if you are transporting your own child. In accordance with department requirements, the
transporting of students is not permitted until all documentation has been received.
