  • 8Mandala

The Mandala that I made is a reflection of myself. It is a reflection of myself now, my goals and myself in the future. Through the creation of my Mandala I was able to understand myself better and I was able to understand myself in a different way. I learned what I truly value in life and what kind of a person I want to become. Buddhist monks in Tibet create Mandalas through a spiritual process, when they are going through hard time in life or are having difficulties connecting with their god, they all gather to create a Mandala. The Mandala is made over the course of six days and is created out of colored sand. While the monks are creating the Mandala other monks are playing spiritual music to help guide them through the spiritual journey. Once the Mandala is completed and everyone has seen it they sweep away the sand into jars because the sand is now sacred. However the creation of my Mandala was much less spiritual and more of a thought provoking process. The mandala that I made is a representation of how I see myself, what my goals are and who I want to become.

There are many symbols on my Mandala of myself now but I chose the three that are most important to me. The first symbol I thought of while creating my Mandala was a stack of books. Reading is my hobby some might say its my passion. When I read I am transported into the setting of the book, I become the characters or a witness to the crime. As I begin to read I leave our world of problems and enter a whole new world. Last week Harry, Ron, Hermione and I were starting our first years at Hogwarts, last night I watched Jace battle a demon. Reading takes me on new adventures and fills me with ideas. When I feel depressed with the state of the world I pick up The Hunger Games and watch as Peeta, Katniss and Finnick battle for their lives and suddenly I dont feel so glum. On my Mandala I included a drawing of a 420 sailboat, because that is the boat I sail. However the boat also represents the path of life, if you dont pull in your sail your going to end up sailing in circles. I think it symbolizes the fact that you have to work hard to get yourself through life. Finally, the tree which represents growth and strength because you need to be strong before you can grow. It represents power, sturdiness and calmness, all of these factors are necessary for it to survive in nature. People have factors that help them survive in this world. I picked these symbols because they are small representa-tions of myself. They are pieces of my puzzle that help put me together.

Colors. Every person associates different colors with various objects, emotions and ideas. On my Mandala I have many different colors but I chose four main ones. The first one is blue, traditionally blue is associ-ated with depth, loyalty, truth, wisdom and faith. Blue is also the hue of the sky and is often affiliated with the ocean. When I sail its just me, the boat and the big blue ocean, I can go anywhere. The second color I chose was orange. Orange is a combination of the passion in red and the joy in yellow. When you mix yel-low and red paint your mixing passion and joy, you get determination, success and happiness. To the human eye orange is a hot color, when seeing orange you feel the sensation of heat. Fascinatingly orange increases the oxygen supply to the brain, and stimulates mental activity. I choose orange for my reading and writing section because of these facts and because of what the color orange is associated with. The third color I chose was green. Green symbolizes growth, harmony and peace.

The mandala essay was an indian practice of expressing your feelings through imagery. The seventh graders decided to interpret themselves into this practice and then write an essay, as shown in Polina Vitrouks example.

  • 9The color green has an emotional correspondence with safety. It is on the same side as the religious symbols because I think that green also represents tolerance and acceptance. It is a very earthly color and it has a strong connection with nature. The last color I chose was red because red represents blood, energy and power as well as passion, love and sensitivity. Red is a very emotional color; on the one hand its scary and evil but on the other its love and kindness and passion. When I see the color red I think of the trauma room at the ER because it reminds me of fear. Fear doesnt scare me it thrills me, when Im scared I think. The colors I chose to express myself are all associated with the qualities I have or want to have. Green symbolizes growth, harmony and peace. The second side of me is the future and my goals. When I grow up I want to be a surgeon most likely a car-diothoracic surgeon. The symbol to represent surgery is the heart. I have always wanted a medical profession but over the last year or so I have found that the idea of surgery was the most appealing to me. The symbols that represent one of my many goals are the religious symbols. The religious symbols represent tolerance and acceptance of any race, any sexual preference, any ideas, religion or disability. The world should be a place where people feel safe to be one hundred percent themselves. I want to explore new cultures and travel to new places. Thats what the globe represents, traveling. I want to visit every state in the United States of America; I want to go to the Bahamas and India and Taiwan I want to see the world. These are the three most important symbols for my future.

Through the creation of my Mandala I learned a lot. I learned what a Mandala is, and I asked myself an-swered questions that I had never had answers to before; I dug a little deeper into myself. I found that eve-ryone has two or maybe more different sides. I have many different sides but these two sides are the ones that are most important to me. In short, I think that the process of creating the Mandala was tiring and it stretched my brain but I am glad because I was able to discover more about myself.Polina Vitrok This is a visual that Polina made,

    The VoiceThe voiceThe Voice

On March 19th there was a concert after school. The students chose a song and they practiced the song . They also chose dancers if they want dancers. The students are in charge of the whole thing as Mr. Lib-bey is just there to help them. The Cascade group The Voice wanted to have a little challenge so they decided to sing in the libary in front of the students. Juliette Libby

The Voice is a CASCADE, which is an amusing, interesting, and pleasant class. In this CASCADE, you chose a song of your interest. With that song, you rehearse, and get tips from the teacher, Mr. Lib-bey. The more you practice the better. On March 19, from 19:00 until 20:30. The Voice performed. There was singing, dancing, and musi-cians. It was a night to remember. The money given was donated to the Mukwashi school in Zambia.

Meteors in the Night SkyCade Berger

In 2007, I was eight years old. On a warm summer night my brother, my dad, and I were all laying down on the edge of our dock along the cold misty lake. Behind us were the big bull frogs nesting in the cold, mushy swamp making their croaking sound. In the trees and in the bushes were katydids making their eep eep eep dink dink dink sound lighting up the night with noise. Over the lake and in the air were lightning bugs, making no noise, being as silent as a plant but giving off a bright flash of light every ten seconds. I could hear the rustling of all the little forest creatures running and scuttling back to their homes for the night. Of course being only 8 years old I was afraid of bears, so I was laying as far away from the woods a I could so that no bears came up behind me and ate me. All I could smell was the mucky water from the swamp and the lake next to us, and the smell of my mom in the house with her friends over making steak with the grill overlooking the lake, woods, and swamp. I could also smell the nice smell of the charcoal and wood burning from my neighbors house as they had made a campfire to roast marshmallows. Then it had started, we all looked up at the starry sky when big white objects would zoom through the earth's atmosphere. We all watched in amazement. My brother, my dad and I were all eating peanuts, cracking the hard outer shells open for the nice and tasty peanut inside. We discarded the peanut shells into the lake, where they sank to the bottom and are still probably there today. Every time a me-teor zoomed by us Mason would make a zooming sound. One after the other we would watch as the shooting stars flew across the starry night sky. I remember asking my dad what would happen if a meteor crashed into our house, and he said our insurance would help us. I didnt know what insurance was back then but I do now and Im pretty sure insurance doesnt cover that. After at least half an hour of watching the sky it soon ended, and like every good thing has to end. My mom said bye to her friends. My neighbors stopped putting wood into the fire, but my brother, my dad, and I were still looking at the sky. Staring blankly at the stars. I remember trying to make a shape out of some stars. My dad would find some constellations. My mom came down to the dock with her own sleeping bag. We all looked at her and smiled. She came up next to me and laid down. We all talked and told jokes until we fell asleep.

The AMIS European International Honor Boys Choir Festival was held in Rome this year and six ISL students participated in this outstanding event. The guest conductor was also from ISL, Mr James Libbey. Thanks to The Ambrit International School of Rome for hosting this years Honor Boys Choir Festival. Without the Ambrit Inter-national School the 2014 The AMIS European International Honor Boys Choir Festival would have been cancelled since the AIS is not even a member of AMIS. Mrs. Short stepped in to Host this years Festival. In addition to this festival, the Girls Choir had a chance to go to Paris, while an Honor Band festival was also held.

    POEMSElectricity dreams of

zapping people in the face, and making tears slide down their faces,

    like a waterfall.

It dreams of powering, the entire world.

Making people beg for its powerand electricity.

Within some dreams,It sees itself shutting down, like a worn out computer.

Electricity dreams of,being free from all contracts

    and technology.

    Electricity dreams.

    Poems 1.

Electricity does not dreamBecause electricity has no life

But if electricity did dreamIt would dream of life

    Life in its clearest formLight

But as you knowEverything has to start somewhere

    In this case...A spark

But this spark growsBigger, bigger, bigger

Till there is lightThis light continues to grow

Until it rests in its mothers wombIt lies in darkness

    Growing, growing, growingUntil one day

The light turns onAnd before you know it you are looking

into you mothers eyesSearching, searching, searching

    Then you find itLove

But how can it feel love?It came from nothing

    I thinkIts the spark

The spark that creates lightThat is love

    2.If you has a choice

Would you hang on for dear life?Or fall in autumn?

I would hang on; wouldnt you?

But when you thinkIf you hold on

You always have the same lifeNothing changes

But if you let go, you falland hopefully something changes

Its a lot like lifeYou have to take risks

If you dont, you and life never changesSo, let go, be a leaf

    See where it takes you

    Sebastien Duer

Do leaves look forward to falling in autumn or do they hang on for dear life?

On a cold bitter day,a breeze blows through the air,and the leaves feel that its time.

the breeze crashes into a lonely tree, and slowly climbs up,

until it reaches the first branch.

It has been a long journey, with changing and growing, but now the time has come, and the leaves know it too.

Now the breeze is creeping closer, and the leaves begin to sway,

until one falls, and then another, and they let themselves go,because letting go is okay.

    Lonely Colours

Black and white is where we startedLime and magenta is where we finished.

The RainbowThe prized possession of the skyBoasting all its colours, apart from little shy violet

Hidden under the othersI wish Ill be as big and strong as red one day,Over the years that wish drifted further and further awayViolet grew darker and moodier than ever beforeStill the dream of red, nagging in the back of her mind. The reckless, ready, reserved red still on top of the world.

What can I do to be like her?We all knew it would come to this. No one even notice he was dead. His blood was red too.

Violet finally arrived at the topbut only lasted a day before blue took over

Two shining stars are a symbol of friendship,We are as close as two lips.

Some say a true friend is hard to find,But why, when you are so kind.

    My Favorite Kingdom

My favorite day is a sunny summer day waking up to a smell of flowers and a ray of sunlight.

My favorite color is the reflection of a sunset gliding on top of the water.

My favorite window is looking out ontoa lake surrounded by trees.

My favorite feeling is when the freshgrass tingles between my toes.

My favorite door leads to the candy world in Willy Wonka.

My favorite room is the dark space between my bed and my blanket.

    Poem

I near when unexpected, Im in everyones mindI take away, but leave tears behind

I am not wanted, yet I have to show upTo stop the clocks and wilt the flowers

To darken the world is my ambitionTo create all those holes is my desire

I end your road, I dare you to catch meI appear in your dreams, a thief of your breathing melody

Agony is my soul, misery is my objectiveI melt love, and turn songs into pain

Everyone will be with me one dayIm the last one you know

    Electric Dream

I dream of flying like a eagle,I dream of love,I dream of sleep,

    I dream of dreams.

But I cant be what I want to be,I cant be like an eagle flying in the sky.

    I cant love, sleepor dream

I am not nothing,But I am nothing to me.

For my only wish,Is something I cant see.

There is always less left of me,for i am widely used,

for good and bad,You havent realised,

but sooner or later I will be gone. And I will stream with happiness,In the dream I have never dreamt

    Leo-Thor Leleux

    Autumn Leaves

Soon it will be over,The branch that has kept me,

Will let me goAnd let me free by death.

I will know when,The stream of life in the tree,

Stops streaming in meAnd turns live dark like black.

I will know when,My friend lets go of me,

I swift downand gently give death a kiss

I will know when,You turn brown, orange or yellow,

so will Iand then we will know.

    Leo-Thor Leleux

Leaves.Do they want to fall down?

Do they want to be walked on?We dont know

    Do we?

Maybe all the want is to hang, high up in a tree

the sun shining through the top.We dont know

    Do we?

Leaves might want to fall down, and be walked on.

Maybe they will feel, like they have something to live for.

    We dont knowDo we?

All we can ever know,is that they are leaves.

They fall down in autumn, and come back in spring.

They are leaves, and thats all we will

    see them as.Leaves.

The top 4 Random fun websites to play with in your spare time

    4-Line- http://www.barcinski-jeanjean.com/entries/line3d/ or google The line 3d

The line is the kind of thing you would do on a Monday morning. This is one of those websites that you would play with when you would be bored. This website makes a shape as an ever expanding line that moves through air and, you can make all sorts of designs. Its a bit like virtual Art where nobody can ever recreate a piece like the one you have made.

3-Sanger- http://www.sanger.dk/ or google-Sanger dkThis one is for when you are bored on a Satur-day, you have a maths test coming up and you dont want to study. It gives you the feeling that there is a REAL pug behind the monitor, but when you look at the monitor at a different angle then the pug goes out of view. When it disappears it makes me sad. :( This website is rather inactive as you cant do anything except look at a pug licking a screen over and over again. It is still cute and fun. However, after a couple of times it gets dull unless you show it to a friend that has never seen it before.

2 Feed the head- http://www.feedthehead.net/ or google Feed the headFeed the head is a interactive game in which you are represented by a head and you just feed it. You click on parts of the head and things happen. For example, its nose is able to be pulled off and some noses do unusual things. You advance in the game by just click-ing on parts of the face.

1 Draw a Stickman- http://www.drawastick-man.com/ or google Draw a stik man

1- Draw a stickman is all about a specific story with 2 episodes and basically you have to draw objects which you can use in your adventure. You are also able to draw your character- the stickman.

Match Reports by the U.14 B Team

Luxembourg B vs. Amsterdam 0-5This was our first game, and it was a difficult start. But, I must admit that this score could have been worse. Jack saved 99% of Amsterdams shots. There was good communication between us and the defence put pres-sure on Amsterdams players. Luxembourg B vs. The Hague 0-11The first 5 minutes were going pretty well, but then a goal put us down one to zero. Then things got worse. They just attacked with counter attacks, and we had no chance - they were too quick. But you shouldnt forget that they had the home advantage, knew the field and had more supporters. Luxembourg B vs. Hamburg 1-2Our best part of this match was in the third and fourth quarter. We needed some time to get into the match and to know their strengths. Their goals were strong, fast, and unexpected. Then in the last quarter we played a great deal in Hamburgs half pitch until Ja-cob scored his beautiful goal. The reason why the ball stayed in Hamburgs half pitch was because the midfield always got the ball after the goal keeper had kicked.

Luxembourg B vs. Dsseldorf 0-4For this match I must admit that we didnt play that well at the beginning. But then in the second and third quarters we played a really good match. We may not have won this match physically, but tactically we could have beaten them. We played with the Christmas tree formation (4-3-2-1) which helped us to keep the mid-dle closed. Because Dsseldorf is so physically good, they were still able to score with counter attacks. Luxembourg B vs. Antwerp 0-1Antwerp was the only team which didnt play with counter attacks. They tried to shoot and it worked once on a corner. But then in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarter we had the ball 80% of the time. Then, we just played in Antwerps half pitch and we always gained the ball after the goalkeeper passed it to the line where all the defender waited, thank you! But we didnt have a good chance to score, which meant that we were out. Reported By: ISL Eagels U14 - Soccer Team B CaptainArnaud GLAESENER

Match One: Our first match of the weekend was against the home team, ISA. The eagles came with an 8-1 victory with goals from Mark (3), Zach (2), Sondre, John-Glenn, & Christian. It was a very good first game seeing as wed just got off of the bus after a 5 hour journey. We played well as a team, communicating well and using techniques we learned in football training. We played very respectfully and there was a chance for all players to have a good run out for the match.

MatchTwo:Gametwowentasimilardirectionasthefirstmatch.GoalsfromAustin(2),Mark(5), Cameron, & Tom Verlaque saw ISL cruise to victory. We had to start with 10 players due to some late arrivals so we knew it was important to keep possession of the ball and not give anything away cheaply. We had three things on our minds, have fun, play respectfully and win, all of which we did. The MVP of the game was the whole team because of the cooperation and effort all of us put in.

MatchThree:Ourlastgamewasanopportunitytoreallyfocusonallskillsusedintraining..The score was irrelevant but we focused on playing well making use of the good tactics and verbal co-operation used previously. We kept the ball, played together and made sure that all areas of our game were outstanding. Players on the score sheet were Philip (2), Cameron (2), Austin (3), Mark (5), Zach (3), Tom Verlaque (2), Sondre (2), & Christian. Match two and Match three were back to back so by the end of the day we were very tired but on a high from our efforts from the two days.

Weekendoverall:Iwasveryproudtobethecaptainofmyteamthispastweekendbecauseofhow great it went, I know the rest of the team was also very proud of this past weekend and we look forward to next weekend when we host St Georges School Koln and the British School of Paris.

U-14 Boys Football vs. Bonn & Antwerp

ISL Eagles Black & White Antwerp International School

ISL 0:1 AntwerpOverall the B Team did the best they could. We played as a team for the first time and we found the game very challenging. Our attack was generally strong and we had good support from midfield and defence which was evident through our solid gameplay. As a new team it was great for everyone to have a game and most impor-tantly have fun. Although AIS came through as winners we were pleased to have developed our skills, worked as a team, and made the Eagles proud.

    ISL 0:5 Bonn

The game versus Bonn was the more challenging of the two as they were strong, well drilled, and moved the ball better than we did. We did the best we could but it wasnt quite enough to match their powers. We worked as hard as we could throughout the match and still managed to play every player at some point. Although the result didnt go our way, we still tried our best and gave it everything we had. With NECIS in the back of our minds we look forward to pushing forwards in our quest for success.

    Martin Calonico-Konig

ISL Eagles Green vs Bonn International School

As predicted Bonn arrived ready to play, but were knocked off balance by an early goal for the Eagles. A long throw led to Mark Hallerstrom lofting the ball from a tight angle off to the right. The resilience shown by the Greens in both limited Bonn to just one goal, after a defensive mishap, but the game had already been won by a second goal, scored by Sondre Berg. All in all, the match was an intense game, played by two teams who will meet in the group stages of NECIS this year; more than that, it was a marker set down by ISL, of what could still be to come.

Out of the two games for the green team, the match against Bonn proved to be by far the most challenging of the two games. With only three goals scored, one team was going to be on the end of a narrow loss, but through strong defence and an impressive counterattack, we came away 2-1 winners. This is a great achievement as the Bonn team we faced came second at NECIS football last year, losing out to Dusseldorf in the final.

Isl Eagles Green vs Antwerp International School

As a performance, the score line of 9-0 says it all. We were in control of the ball for pretty much all of the game. By then we knew our strengths and weaknesses. Against Antwerp on the Saturday we played more as a team. The goals were shared by Mark Hallerstrom (2), Sondre Berg (2), Sebastian Weber, Christian Thomassen, Aus-tin Hale and John-Glenn Binsfeld.

Overall, the game flowed well; ; the ball was put where it needed to be put and the rest looked after itself. It was a great opportunity for all players to have a second run out and get used to being a part of the eagles squad. The support from the spirit squad was great and the atmosphere from the supporters was a great boost to in both games and helped push the team forwards in both matches. We look forward to the upcoming matches and really enhancing our skills in preparation for NECIS in November.

CONSPIRACY!Bribes and Deceit Rock the RepublicLast week, we reported the immensely popular story of the bribery associated with the expansion of the aqueduct system. At that time, The Republican had uncovered that work conditions were inhuman and that favors had been traded so that officials would look the other way. We have now just learned that additional bribes were offered to overseeing senators so that the underground pumps and pipes would direct water to the homes of senators instead of the public fountains and baths that they had been originally meant for. In a significant discovery, several high ranking officials were identified in this scandal. The Republican is not publishing their names at this time to protect their families from negative reactions.

Recent ScandalsIn an unrelated story, during the case of man being tried for beating his wife, his alleged children, orphans supposedly found on the street, were paraded into the courtroom to show their neglect by the man as well. Later, it was determined that the children were not only not of the mans responsibility, but they were not or-phans at all. They were some children that were taken off the street, with one being a senators daughter, a plan thought up by the senator defending the wife. Consul Castor Ferrionus expressed outrage at this deceit, saying it was unspeakable to have children get tangled in this web of lies. The senator in question will be charged for violating one of the standard laws since he fabricated evidence in court. His fate lies in the hands of the court.

Bribes Gone ByIf you could recall, there have only been a few accounts of this kind, with one being in the 24th meeting where a man stood up and said that he, an average citizen of the republic, was taken off the street and sold as a slave to a senator, who was present at the time. The senator supposedly used this man to initiate bribes to some senators, also now identified, to influence their votes on crucial matters. This case, known as Bribe-a-Gate will be unfolding over the next few days since more witnessed have come forward.

Reactions in the Republic The citizens appear to be shaken up by these recent events as we have found in our interviews around the public fountains. However, most say that they have complete confidence that justice will be served.

CONSTRUCTION BEING DONE ON THE PANTHEONThe Pantheon now is being renovated by Romaniius Con-tractors, who will be working on it for another five days. The alternative worship site will be the Colosseum. Pegasus SightedAt dusk last night, a Pegasus was spotted in the sky, flying at the same height as the hills just beyond the city, several hundred paces beyond the aqueducts. Numerous citizens reported this unusual event. The senators investigated and concluded that the Pegasus was just an erroneously thrown spear that was, tossed by some ungrateful plebians. While the expla-nation seems a bit suspect, the senators were confident in their findings. All future sightings should be brought to the attention of Gavinous Scorpious, esteemed senator, for investigation.

Public: Should We Really Have the Tribune? The formation of the Tribune happened officially ten years ago, and with it, the plebians now have a voice in govern-ment. But should we really have this branch? Are the plebians better off or is it just complicating our government? Some readers wrote in to talk about it.

Hear Us RoarDear Editor,I am a plebian and I used to see every day my fellows being verbally and physically abused by patricians who bent the standard rules every day. I fought for them, but ended up in court all the time. Before the Tribune I asked the local assemblymen for help, hearing that these matters were things that should be addressed, and issues that many people complained about. I returned, confident and happy to my village, where I was met by a horde of patricians, who beat me with clubs and the hilts of swords. I now have a broken leg, which will thankfully repair soon. But now we have the Tribune, a fair solution to our problems, and that makes the patricians fearful. First off, the Tribune now gives us someone to complain to on our level, which is easier without fear of punishment. Also, we can also choose our own representatives, strong men with strong voices who can persuade patricians to see our problems. Lastly, we are now an official part of the government with a say in how things are done.As you can see, we plebians prefer this new form of government. It gives us a chance to be heard. We no longer have to suffer in silence. Long live the Tribune!!Love this paper,Ferrolinus

What is This Rubbish?Dear Editor,I am a patrician, and I believe that these plebians are taking over our Senate as we know it. We have already given ample housing to every family out of our own pockets, and food that should fill their stomachs. What more could they want? Riches? We ourselves have few coins to rub together. Power? They already have that. Less labor? Who will work then? The work conditions are very safe and the pay is ample. Yet why do these lower members want MORE? I and my fellow cohorts demand an answer. When the Tribune came around, I was shocked. It is a wrongdoing of the government to give a vote to the lower class for they did not earn that right in the first place. Also, since they select their own members, how do we know they are not violent or likely to commit treason when we let these possible spies into our government, thus resulting in yet another revolution. Lastly, their complaints are trivial if even real and take time from serious issues. We gave our fair share, and the Tribune came in and is asking for more. This Tribune idea has gone too far.Stop mud-dling the system and let the classes stay separated.Love the comics,Opperus

The Circus Maximus, the hub for slave racing has received some innovative updates thatare new in the world of sports. These cutting-edgechanges should make the races safer, fairer, and more exciting to watch.

The Circus Maximus always had men battling itout to the death, with the stakes being ones life. Many senators were appalled at this behavior, saying it dread-fully dangerous for the crowds and theracers. They took it to the Consuls, and with the help of Georginus Contractors Inc., some chang-es were introduced. A small colored flag was built on every chariot so that the racers can be identified quickly bytheir color. The outer side of the inside lane now has a wall to keep racers confined to thee track and prevent cut-ting across the ring. The Circus Maximus is now going to

have finally have fences to prevent attendees from acci-dentally falling into the track. Additionally, the fences will keep the racers from crashing into the viewing crowd.

The Circus Maximus will have tiered seating, providing better viewing from all areas in the arena dur-ing the races. There will not be a bad seat in the house now. The supervisor will now have a raised chair, which is higher than the other tiered seating. Also, at the starting line, the doors of the racers stalls will be spring-powered, making their opening fairer since they will all open at the same time. Furthermore, there has been an expansion in the number of lanes, the increase the maximum number of racers.

All of these changes should improve the experience for both the racers and the audience. See you at the races.

I started my web design business so that I can earn money while I practice my programming skills. I started by learning to program on a website online called Code cademy. I learned programming with my friend, Gray, in Middle School during TASC after I finished all my homework. We had the idea to start a web design business together, but there was one problem, we were terrible at it. Although we could not make a professional website at all, we thought we were great! We were going to call our business Supe-rior Bucktooth. I now realize how bad our idea was.

Now, two years later, I have my own web design business called Swicked Sites. Now my websites are MUCH more professional, and I actually have busi-ness! I started by purchasing a domain name, build-ing the website, then advertising my business. The one thing I have found the hardest is advertising.

Before I did not have any startup money to purchase advertising. I had to rely on word of mouth. And trust me that is VERY difficult.

I had to find some ways to make my business stand out. So I made my business the most inexpensive one out there. Most businesses charge as little as 50 Euros an hour. To give you an Idea, websites normally take up to 10 hours to finish. Thats 500 Euros plus a lot more per month! I only charge as little as 20 Euros for the entire website and a very small fee per month! I also added a special type of website I call The Tem-porary Plans. These websites last for only one month and cost 20 Euros each. These are useful for events or parties with too much information for a flyer. I also have websites for education. These are for teachers that dont have time to update a wiki.

Book ReviewAttack on Titan By Hajime IsayamaKristopher Berkel This year I started reading a new book, the graphic novel called Attack On Titan.Although at the moment I am up to book number 6, a lot has happened so far. For example... Oh, no spoilers! It is about Giant Humanoid people eating humans and killing them. This book also has an ani-mated series but I recommend reading the book first. According to the developers, there is a motion pic-ture movie coming out in 2018. From the little that I saw, it looks rather creepy but interesting. This book is also very bloody, so I recommend not reading it if you a squirmish. This book has very good drawings.

This year, in the middle of September, the Swedish mega-firm Mojang got bought by the greatest tech-nological company in the world, Microsoft. Mojang is famously known for creating the most bought game there ever has been on the iOS store and the Google play store, its name is Minecraft. Minecraft is a game in which you can create different worlds and build things in them using Lego-style blocks. In the game itself there are two types of modes. The first is the Creative mode: in the Creative mode you get an unlimited amount of resources with which you can build all sorts of things ranging from sky-scrapers to underground caves. The second mode is the Survival mode: The Survival mode is the complete opposite to the Creative mode because you have to hunt for your own resources and you can even be killed by animated zombies. The reason why Minecraft is such a unique game is because other people, who are nearby, can join your worlds and help you build things quicker. For example, imag-ine you are in the library with your phone, sitting in the couches and you are in your Minecraft world building things. And then imagine that your friend is sitting in a chair (beside the library computers) and is on his cell phone about 10 metres away from you. And so, if you are building things in one of your Minecraft worlds, your friend who is sitting in a chair (beside the library computers), can track your Minecraft world server with his or her phone and this means that now he or she can then join your Mi-necraft world without any problem. And if you dont want people join your worlds because they destroy all your things, then on the settings you can chose to play singleplayer, which means that only one who can join your worlds is you. However there are also some cons about Minecraft. For instance; sometimes the game is laggy and so users have had to wait for a total period of 10 minutes for the game to reload and this understandably can cause frustration and some users even quit playing the game because of it. An-other con about Minecraft is that sometimes people create traps which can make you fall down into big deep tunnels and sometimes users dont manage to come out of the tunnels because there are no ladders and so they get stuck in the tunnels forever. So all in all, no matter what age you are, I strongly recom-mend you to get the Minecraft app (available on the Google Play Store and the App Store) because of its extraordinary and truly unique features.
