Mrs. O’Brien’s Class NewsA Note from the Teacher:

Happy September!This is my favorite month of the year (and not just because it’s

my birthday)! We are starting to get into our routines; every

Friday there will be a spelling test and a math “beat the clock” test. Please make sure spelling is

done every day and the math contract is done by Friday! It is great review of what we have

learned in class!

What’s Happening:This quarter, we are

beginning our reading street unit 1. we are

focusing on short vowels, beginning blends, and ending blends. Please

remember to read to your child every night, and take

turns reading to each other! In math, we are counting up to 120 and learning how to make groups of tens and ones! There is math all

around us; encourage your child to count things around

the house!
