ItisimportantthestudentsandparentsunderstandthecostofattendingaUniversitycanbemorethanjusttuitionandfees.

Residentstudentspreparingtoliveoncampusshouldrealizethecostoflivingoncampusandthatitisafullyearcommitment.FormoreinformationregardinglivingoncampuswesuggestvisitingtheResidentialEducationandServiceswebsiteandalsolookingattheResidentStudentHandbook.

Commuterstudentswillseethatwehaveamealplan(boardcharge)intheircostofattendance.Somecommuterstudentsopttohaveamealplanforthetimetheyspendoncampus.Inacommuterstudent'smiscellaneouscharges,theymaywanttoaccountforaparkingpass.Itisimportanttonotethatthismoneywillnotbereimbursedtoyouuntilyourrefundisissued.

Studentslivingoffcampusshouldbeawarethattheyhaveanestimatedboardamountbecauseeveniftheydonothaveamealplan,theystillneedtopayforfood.Ifastudentlivingoffcampusisplanningtousetheirrefundtoassistinpayingforrent,theyshouldbeawarethatrefundsarenotissueduntiltheendoftheadd/dropperiod.

Indirectcosts(Books,travel,andmiscellaneous)arecoststhatshouldbekeptinmindwhenplanning.Youmayneedanewlaptop,software,etc.thatwillqualifyformiscellaneouscharges.Ifyouarenotacommuterstudent,travelcanbeconsideredgoinghomeforholidaysandbreaks.

IfyouhaveenoughaidtopayyourDirectCostsandwouldliketousetheremainingbalancetopurchasebooksfromtheUniversityBookstore,youcanmoveyouraidtoyourRedHawkDollars.YoucangototheAuxiliaryServicesOfficeintheStudentCenterSuite1(RightnexttotheComputerLab)toturninthatform.Pleasenotethatstudentsshouldbeawarethatiftheydonothaveenoughmoneytodothis,itwillbecomeachargeontheiraccount.Chargesthatarenotpaidcanresultinholdsandlatefees.QuestionsregardingRedHawkDollarsshouldbedirectedtoAuxiliaryServices.
