NEPA LUTHERAN MISSION PARTNERSHIP

September 2011 Bulletin

Relief Mission Door Offerings 9/25The NEPA Lutheran Mission Partnership met August 25th and we are asking for congregations to do two things to kick off our annual Winter/Spring relief mission:

1) Have a door offering to kickstart the funding requirements.2) Have a congregational vote (in whatever way) as to whether our mission trip should be to New Orleans - OR to help with an Alabama tornado relief (there is still plenty of work left.)

We hope your congregation can do this by September 25 so we can make a decision about where our mission will go, but the door offering can take place at any time! (Although there might be opportunity to help with the recent hurricane disaster, so far we have not heard of any Lutheran organization facilitating relief workers.)

The Lutheran Hour Ministries is facilitating several "Regional Outreach Conferences" around the country this year. They have had a great reception so far and they are coming to our neck of the woods soon! A great lineup of speakers and activities for the whole family will be taking place in Lancaster October 7-8 to strengthen our Christian witness! Especially wonderful will be the fact that the awesome band "Lost and Found" will be leading the entertainment and working with the youth in a special and challenging program! There is more information at the website below, or go to www.lhm.org and look for the "ROC" information. Your church has registration information!

Mark your calendars for our NEPA Lutheran Mission Festival! It has been scheduled for Sunday, April 22nd! We are looking for great ideas to make it the best event of its kind yet. Please feel free to call 570-343-9828 if you have any great ideas - or talk to your pastor.
