May we continue to be used by God and share the Gospel with A Heart for Hamilton County
and the World!!
Missed Opportunities! Here we are at the beginning of another school year.
I pray that everyone had an opportunity to get away for a few days or at least relax for a few days. We all need a little time to get away from our everyday sched-ule to rest and do some things that are not a part of our daily routine to refresh ourselves. With that said, we all know that we cannot stay there. Our lives con-tinue on wherever we are in life.
As we turn to the sixth letter to the churches in Revelation, once again we find the words of this letter very relevant to our lives. This letter, in a nutshell, deals with the mission of the church. I know that we talk a lot about the mission of the church and our re-sponsibility as Christians to be actively involved in that mission, but this is a task that is much easier to talk about than to put into practice for most of us. There are some encouraging words in this letter dealing with the faithfulness to Jesus’ word and not denying Je-sus’ name. This really points us to the fact that one is saved by simply knowing who Jesus is and what He has done for them and trusting in Him. However, Jesus has a plan for us to share that good news.
This is exactly what Jesus points out to the church in Philadelphia in this letter. There are open doors that Jesus has placed before them to share the good news of His saving work, but the people in the church at Philadelphia are not taking advantage of those opportu-nities. I am almost certain that every single one of us as Christians can testify to this. We have had opportu-nities to share the good news of Jesus to hurting, bro-ken people and we let the opportunity slip by us without saying a word. We are afraid that it might offend them. We are afraid that they might get angry at us. We are afraid that they might have a question for us that we cannot answer. Whatever the case may be, we freeze and say nothing when Jesus places an open door before us to share the life-changing, life-saving message of Jesus with them.
Each and everyday we join Jesus on His mission. We do not have to go out hunting opportunities to be a wit-ness of Jesus in our lives. He opens the doors and places those opportunities right before us. We respond to His incredible care and love for us by sharing His care and love with the people that we are around each and every day.
May we continue to go with Jesus and to share the message of our risen Savior with A Heart for Hamilton County and the World!

The Church’s One
Foundation
Samuel J. Stone
1866
The church’s one foundation, Is Jesus Christ her Lord, She is His new creation By water and the word;
From heaven he came and sought her
To be His holy bride; With His own blood He bought her,
And for her life He died.
She is from every nation, Yet one o’er all the earth, Her charter of salvation,
One Lord, one faith, one birth; One holy name she blesses,,
Partakes on holy food, And to one hope she presses,
With every grace endued.
Mid toil and tribulation, And tumult of her war,
She waits the consummation Of peace forever more;
Till with the vision glorious Her longing eyes are blest,
And the great Church victorious Shall be the Church at rest.
Yet she on earth hath union With God the Three in One,
And mystic sweet communion With those whose rest is won;
With all her sons and daughters, Who by the Master’s hand
Led through the deathly waters, Repose in Eden Land.
It is almost here. It’s time to get ready. Choir practice @ 8:30am on Sunday mornings. We are planning on singing on the 15thof August. Please plan on coming and joining the choir. It is an enjoyable way of serving the Lord.

This is a movie about a Lutheran Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, also known as Nicolai Ionescu, a Romanian Lutheran Christian minister of Jewish descent. In 1948, having become a Christian 10 years before, he publicly said Communism and Christianity were not compatible. As a result, he experienced imprisonment and tor-ture by the then Communist regime of Romania, for his beliefs. After serving a total of fourteen years, he was ransomed for $10,000. His colleagues in Romania urged him to leave the country and work for religious freedom from a location less personally dangerous. After spending time in Norway and England, he and his wife Sabina, who had also been imprisoned, emigrated to America and dedicated the rest of their lives to publicizing and helping Christians who are persecuted for their beliefs. He wrote more than 18 books, the most widely known being Tortured for Christ. Variations of his works have been translated into more than 60 languages. He founded the interna-tional organization Voice of the Martyrs, which continues to aid Christians around the world who are persecuted for their faith.
This movie will be shown on Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Cinemark Theater in Temple beginning at 7:00 p.m. The tickets will be presold at the following website:
