TY Hilton leads Sydney to victory-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Sydney,NSW- Coming into the season there were some big questions marks over TY Hilton. Hilton was a star in lowly Division 1AA College football but most scouts said that he had failed to step up to the level required for the pro game. In the pre-season he struggled through the play book and started the year as the 4th receiver on the depth chart. Then he exploded late against Canberra for on a well beaten team. Quickly elevating him to start Hilton produced the same magic this week against Sydney and by giving the Blues at passing threat they were so much more dangerous. "I am just doing this all for my family. Family is everything to me. Coming to the other end of the world shows how desperate I am" Hilton said after the game. The Blues were always in control of this game even after they had to adapt to playing without a Fullback. Jordon Montinelli suffered an elbow injury early in the 1st quarter and would not return. They were also without regular starter Dane Leatigaga so the performance of Hilton became even more important.Sydney threw for 274 yards, a figure not heard of in the harbour town since the days of Ian Youngquest. Quarterback Peter Harper was in control with a clean pocket to throw from. he completed at 70%. Hilton caught the first Touchdown at the start of the 2nd quarter before Wollongong showed their only sign of fight for the match with Francis Elliott capping of a 17 play drive with a 2 yard run.Michael Williams put the Blues back in front at the end of the half with a 26 yard field goal before touchdowns twice to Matt Smith and another for Hilton blew the game out to 31-7. "I think the players who want to step up have for us and that means we should be in for a successful year" said Graeme Eadie. "TY has been great. But so has Marquise (Lee) and Harps. I thought defensively today we were back to our best".
