Film Marketing Campaign
Billboard Campaigns
A series of billboards were put up in America, again generating interest and intrigue about the upcoming film release. The point of this was to create a general buzz
amongst the public, before the film posters were released. This is a clever marketing strategy as it will intrigue the audience into want to know more about the film.
Film Posters
MTV released four film posters promoting the film. They were released over a period of time, giving the audience an insight into scenes from the films. Each poster shows a still image of stunts from the film, and are designed to create intrigue about the film. The posters follow the same format, each giving away a snapshot of the film.
Trailer and Film Clips
After the film poster release, there was a film trailer release. This gives another insight into the film, and again intrigues the audience into seeing the movie.
There were also clips of the film showed on TV appearances, for example, there was a clip shown on the VMA’s along with an appearance by Bam Margera, Johnny Knoxville and Steve-o.

OtherTo create more buzz around the upcoming release, MTV showed re- runs of old Jackass TV series, as well as releasing a box set of the other film releases.
They also released a soundtrack, featuring all of the songs in the film. This was clever as fans of the artists used in the soundtrack would be more inclined to go and see the film.
The marketing campaign was clearly successful as the film made $50 million in it’s opening weekend, making it the highest grossing film in October and autumn 2010.
