The subjunctive is used to convey a speaker’s wishes, attitudes, hopes, fears, doubts, or uncertainties—personal reactions to events and to the actions of others.
Quiero que conozcas a Jaime. I want you to meet Jaime.
Espero que esté en casa. I hope that he is at home.
Formation of regular -ar, -er, -ir verbs:
Delete the final -o from the yo form of the present indicative and add these endings.

To express someone's wish desire, preference, recommendation, request, or suggestion that someone else do something or that something happen, use a verb of wish/request/preference + que + subjunctive.
