School Committee Vote - November 16, 2016

● Close the Mattahunt Elementary School on June 30, 2017;

● All current students will have priority in the school choice transfer process;

● All students shall be guaranteed a seat at a higher performing school;

● On July 1, 2017, open a new school serving grades K0-1; and

● All current K0-K2 students will be guaranteed a seat in the new school, if they choose.

A design team consisting of administrators, teachers, parents, central office staff and partners has worked since December to create a vision and structure for the new school in Mattapan
