Keys to success in the MAPR program• Contact your mentor ASAP to set up regular meetings to discuss thesis
ideas• Your thesis topic should be relevant to your mentor’s expertise
• Get to know the faculty and their research interests (you are going to need 2 more faculty for your committee)• Get involved in research immediately; parlay this experience into
conference presentations and manuscripts• READ, READ, READ in your area of interest to increase your mastery of
your subject area• Be aware of deadlines; be proactive
