SHS students have warmly welcomed our new students
and teachers.
The Virtue for September: Optimism
Optimism is the tendency to expect the best and see the best in
all things. It is a sense of hopefulness and confidence. One who
has optimism believes in the ultimate triumph of good over evil.

The Twenty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time – September 10, 2017
Do you feel something missing in your life?
Are you interested in learning more about the
Catholic faith?
Do you have friends or family members who are
questioning what Catholicism is all about?
Do you have Catholic family members or friends who have
fallen away from the faith?
We invite and welcome you and them to investigate the
truth about Catholicism by joining the RCIA group here at
OLMM Parish.
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a program
designed to help non-Catholics and non-practicing
Catholics learn more about Catholicism through a series of
classes, discussions and prayer. RCIA helps people grow
in faith and knowledge and a relationship with Jesus as
they consider becoming Catholic.
If you feel the RCIA process is something you or a friend/
family member might be interested in, please
contact Sherry Impastato at
[email protected] or 926-2206.

Below are just a couple of the CD titles available in our Lighthouse Media Collection:
Make Sense Out of Suffering We all experience suffering at some time in our lives. Our tribulations range from small disappointments to serious tragedies. Listen as scripture scholar and lay theologian, Dr. Scott Hahn, makes sense out of suffering by drawing from the wisdom and insight of God's Word. He helps us find the meaning of our suffering by showing us how to unite it to the suffering of Christ on the Cross. Vatican II, Mercy and You
In this illuminating talk, Fr. Michael Gaitley recounts how Archbishop Karol Wojtyla, later Pope St. John Paul II, used the teachings of the Second Vatican Council with great success to help Catholics in his diocese live their faith to the full. Learn how Vatican II provides a map to help us enrich our lives through faith and effectively experience the good news of God’s divine mercy. We kindly ask for a donation of $4.00 per book (or otherwise specified suggested donation), $3.00 per CD, $2.00 per booklet and $0.50 per pamphlet so that we may continue this program. Please make all checks out to “OLMM.” Won’t you reach out and help bring someone home?
Highlighting Our Advertisers Did you know that The Homebrew Barn advertises on the back pages of our bulletin? Any business you give them benefits our parish in the publication of our bulletin. We thank all of our advertisers.
Become the woman of grace God created you to be!
The Women of Grace Foundational Study, FULL OF GRACE: WOMEN AND THE ABUNDANT LIFE is a dynamic program for Catholic women, encouraging study participants to come to a fuller understanding of their dignity and vocation as daughters of God. They'll dig deep into Catholic teaching to examine their gift of authentic femininity using the study text "FULL OF GRACE", Sacred Scripture, the Catechism, citations from Vatican II and other Magisterial Documents, as well as the biographies of 16 Catholic women saints. As they learn the great gift of authentic femininity and how to live it out in the world today, hearts are healed, lives are changed, and souls are saved!
