ChristianshavnChristianshavn has a unique maritime atmosphere, it is central, full of bars and restaurants, and is a much-desired area for Copenhageners to live – no wonder why! The canals entwine between idyllic houses, why not enjoy a cold beer by the beautiful waterfront, dine at the world-famous restaurant Noma, or relish an extraordinary experience at The Royal Danish Opera. Do not forget to visit the world’s only freetown, Christiania – right at the heart of Christianshavn too. Christianshavn is located only 4 minutes from Kongens Nytorv by metro.
City CentreThe heart of Copenhagen, the inner city, is a spectacle of ancient meeting cutting edge. Copenhagen’s oldest neighborhood with its Dickensian, narrow cobbled streets and crooked houses, are seamlessly situated next to cutting edge architecture. In this myriad, you will f ind some of the city’s most popular attractions, within easy walking distance. Browse by the political, royal, and historic centre, dive into a web of great shopping streets, cosy cafes, restaurants, green oases, charming canals, and a modern waterfront. The main artery in the heart of the city centre is the pedestrian street Strøget that runs from City Hall Square to Kongens Nytorv.
No visit to Copenhagen is complete without experiencing the Tivoli Gardens. Since the garden was founded in 1843 by Georg Carstensen, it has been a Danish landmark and a place the Danes themselves love dearly. We highly recommend that you pay it a visit and see for yourself. Tivoli is a place a fun rides, cool concerts, beautiful lawn areas, fairy lights, f ireworks, and countless illuminations, an abundance of flowers and many diverse restaurants.
Every year the Tivoli Concert Hall hosts a number of concerts, shows, and arrangements – not least the Tivoli Festival, Scandinavia’s largest classical music festival, running from May to August. Also the Music Week with each
day of the week dedicated to a specif ic music genre will be presenting live experiences every day during the summer season. Tivoli is a place of magic, of make believe, of art, architecture, history – and fun.
Tivoli welcomes you!

As Lord Mayor of Copenhagen I am delighted to welcome you to our modern and historic city!
When you explore Copenhagen you will notice how cobblestoned streets and royal castles mix with contemporary urban architecture. Copenhagen is also a green city, and we aim to make it the world’s f irst carbon-neutral capital by 2025. In the city you can swim in the harbour baths and relax in one of the green parks. You can experience renowned Danish design and taste the Nordic kitchen. You might also want to explore the city the Copenhagen way –
by jumping on one of the city bikes. The city is growing rapidly, and you might notice the many construction sites. Hopefully, this will not be of much inconvenience to you.
Above all, I hope you get the feeling that Copenhagen is a city for life. Cosmopolitan with a cozy vibe.
I wish you a wonderful stay in our city.
Frank JensenLord Mayor of Copenhagen
