The 2012 Olympics at Stratford, just a few miles from London SouthendAirport has led to major regeneration and redevelopment of the EastLondon Boroughs and the towns fringing the Thames Estuary.
Located just 46 minutes from the airport by rail, developments in Stratford’s InternationalQuarter and nearby Canary Wharf will generate more than 300,000 jobs by 2030. Stratfordis now one of the UK’s most important transport hubs, providing direct links to as many as195 trains per hour for visitors using London Southend Airport’s mainline rail route.
Close to London Southend Airport, London Gateway, Europe’s largest port opened its firstphase in 2013, following a massive local investment in excess of £1.5bn by developers, DPWorld. This huge facility will not only inject significant additional business opportunities intothe Tilbury/Basildon/Southend-on-Sea area, but has already generated in excess of 30,000well paid jobs in the Essex coastal area.
