Important Dates
• Monday 9 March: IMPACT testing (update bi-annually)
• Tuesday 10 March: Spring Sports Parent Meeting (6:30)
• Wednesday 11 March: Start of indoor training (2:45-4:00)
• Tuesday 17 March: Swim test at East Lyme Pool (3:10-4:30)
• Monday 23 March: First day on the water at Hains Park
• Saturday 2 May- Team fundraising Carwash
• Friday 29 May: Boathouse and Equipment cleanup
Crew/boat SelectionSelecting athletes is always one of the most stressful times for the rowers and the coach. Please keep in mind these important points:
1. It is always in the coach’s interest to create the fastest boat
2. Just like a race, you must perform well in the selection process
3. Selection is ongoing, if you are not training well (or not there), someone may take your seat.
Selection is made using a variety of factors:• Erg results• Technique• Boat chemistry• Seat racing

Rowing Attire• Be prepared for any weather!
• Dress in layers with tight fitting athletic clothes
• Have dry clothes to change into
Athletes Responsibility
• Schedule around practices/regattas
• Be on time to practices/regattas
• Pitch in around the boathouse
• Load and unload truck and trailer on race days
• Respect your coaches, teammates, parents and other teams
• Stay hydrated and fed
• NO DISPOSABLE WATER BOTTLES
• Use required medicine
• Own a 7/16” wrench for rigging
• Listen
Parent Responsibilities • Schedule around crew practice/regattas
• Be on time for pickup from practice/regattas
• Make sure athletes have proper clothing
• Send extra food/water
• Volunteer to help with the parents group

For regattas
• Please respect the kids preparation for racing
• At home regattas we ALL MUST park at Town Woods Park
• Transportation to and from all away regattas is by team bus
• We will provide information for away regattas – also on website
• For regattas at Lake Waramaug there is a parking fee collected at our tent
• Please assist with the Food Tent
• In general, we are all responsible to clean the site when we leave
• We have a great team atmosphere; we all help and support each other
