The Old Court Hotel is located within a few hundred yards of the A40 dual carriageway which easily connects to the M4 and M5 motorways. Symonds Yat is an ideal base from which to explore the Wye Valley - to visit the historic market towns of Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth and the world famous Tintern Abbey. The cities of Cardiff, Bristol, Gloucester and Hereford are all within 45 minutes by car and nearby areas of outstanding natural beauty include the Royal Forest of Dean and the Brecon Beacons National Park.
At Symonds Yat West and within walking distance of the hotel we have the River Wye with boat trips and a host of other tourist attractions.

Jono and I want to thank you for thinking of using the Old Court Hotel for your wedding or function. Collectively we have over 40 years of experience in the industry, which ensures that we can cater for your every need. We tailor make our weddings to suit each individual Bride and Groom, although I do have some good hints and tips for you if you need them. I organise and run all the functions, so you know you can trust us with every detail needed to make your day run smoothly.
The Hotel itself has stood for more than 450 years, being built around 1570. Previous owners include Thomas Gwillim who was ADC to General Wolfe at the Battle of Quebec, and John Graves Simcoe who was the first Lt Governor of Upper Canada and the founder of the City of Toronto. As you wander around the hotel you can see that the hotel and its grounds have kept than olde worlde style and are a lovely setting for any occasion.
At the Old Court Hotel we are able to cater for civil weddings, as well as wedding receptions, birthdays, christenings and wakes.
We also have 22 en-suite rooms which include several with four poster beds. Additionally we have Four Poster Suites (situated in a converted barn next to the hotel), each suite has a separate Four Poster Bedroom, Bathroom Kitchen and Lounge/Dining Room, complete with real wood birning stove, flat screen television with DVD and Freeview channels.The Suites can also accommodate children - please ask for details. You can also utilise our self catering cottage, also within our grounds, which sleeps up to 8 people and can be let on a self catering basis for 4 or 7 days. Broadband is available plus WiFi in all the common areas downstairs within the hotel.
The gardens speak for themselves. Set in quiet surroundings of the hotel you can relax by the water feature or wander around taking in the well planted gardens with the hills in the background for peace and tranquility for those memorable wedding photos.

The Old Court Hotel holds a Civil Ceremony Licence for couples to marry at the hotel. The Tudor Dining Room holds a maximum of 40 guests, or the Elizabethan Suite holds a maximum of 110 guests. The room charges are as follows:

Please see below our basic menu options. As bride and groom you pick your favourite 2 items from each of the courses and then your guests pick their favourite for the day. Vegetarians we normally do as a 3rd option. Should you wish for a more “gastro” or a la carte menu for your wedding please just ask. We can cater for any taste or budget but it is impossible to list it all down in a brochure.
