Goals of the Mid-year
• Reflect on a teacher’s progress to date using a body of evidence
• Support teacher growth with concrete suggestions for next steps
• Initial renewal and non-probationary status discussion for probationary teachers.
It is recommended that principals take notes during the conversation so you gain a shared understanding of next steps and can continue the conversations at the end
of the year.

• Includes conversation about:1. observation2. student perception3. Professionalism4. student outcomes, including SGOs
• Differentiated according to teacher need – some teachers may need 20 minute check-in, others may need a longer, more explicit conversation about performance – use your best judgment to meet the needs of your teachers and manage your time
