What’s happening in 1925?
A major epidemic of Diphtheria broke out in Alaska What is Diphtheria? This
was a serious bacterial infection usually affecting mucous membranes in your nose and throat. This typically caused fevers, sore throats, swollen glands and weakness. Today, Diphtheria is extremely rare because of vaccinations against the disease.

Dogs were the first animals to become domesticated. The relationship between dogs and their owners benefits both parties. People love and care for their dogs. In return, dogs provide affection, loyalty, and companionship. When there is danger, however, the roles can change. It may be the dog that finds a missing child, warns a family of fire, or leads a lost hiker to safety.
