When the shaking comes, by the introduction of false theories, these surface readers, anchored
nowhere, are like shifting sand. They slide into any position to suit the tenor of their feelings of bitterness.--TM 112 (1897). {LDE 177.1}
The enemy will bring in false theories, such as the doctrine that there is no sanctuary. This is one of
the points on which there will be a departing from the faith.--Ev 224 (1905). {LDE 177.3}

In the future, deception of every kind is to arise, and we want solid ground for our feet. We want solid pillars for the building.
Not one pin is to be removed from that which the Lord has established. The enemy will bring in false theories, such as the doctrine that there is no sanctuary. This is one of the points on which there will be a departing from the faith. Where shall we
find safety unless it be in the truths that the Lord has been giving for the last fifty years?-- Review and Herald, May 25,
1905
Friday, December 28, 12
Satan is striving continually to bring in fanciful suppositions in regard to the sanctuary, degrading the wonderful
representations of God and the ministry of Christ for our salvation into something that suits the carnal mind. He
removes its presiding power from the hearts of believers, and supplies its place with fantastic theories invented to make
void the truths of the atonement, and destroy our confidence in the doctrines which we have held sacred since the third
angel's message was first given. Thus he would rob us of our faith in the very message that has made us a separate people,
and has given character and power to our work.--Special Testimonies, Series B, No. 7, p. 17. (1905.) {CW 53.3}
Friday, December 28, 12
I know that the sanctuary question stands in righteousness and truth, just as we have held it
for so many years. It is the enemy that leads minds off on sidetracks. He is pleased when
those who know the truth become engrossed in collecting scriptures to pile around erroneous
theories, which have no foundation in truth. The scriptures thus used are misapplied; they were
not given to substantiate error, but to strengthen truth.--Gospel Workers, p. 303. (1915.)

“God (Christ) himself devised the plan, and gave it to Moses, with particular directions as to its size and form, and the materials to be used, and specified every article of furniture which was to be in it.
He presented before Moses a miniature model of the heavenly sanctuary, and commanded him to make all things according to the pattern showed him in the mount. Moses wrote all the directions in
a book, and read them to the most influential of the people.”

“It was Christ who planned the arrangement for the first earthly tabernacle. He gave every specification in regard to the
building of Solomon's temple. The One who in His earthly life worked as a
carpenter in the village of Nazareth was the heavenly architect who marked out the plan for the sacred building where His
name was to be honored.“

“For unto us (Christians) was the gospel preached, as well as unto them (Jews): but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith
in them that heard it. [6] Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and the gospel was first preached unto them (margin) entered
not in because of unbelief:”Heb 4:2, 6

In Exodus, the gospel is illustrated in the sanctuary itself, - its arrangement, its furniture, and all its parts;
In Leviticus is illustrated in all the services of the sanctuary;
In Numbers it is revealed in the wanderings of Israel as Christ in the pillar of fire and cloud guided them through the wilderness to the promised land;
In Deuteronomy, as its name indicates, a "repetition of the law” for special emphasis. This final pronouncement of the teachings of the "Gospel according to Moses" was given to prepare Israel to enter the earthly Canaan, and it is typical of the final “repetition” and “special emphasis” now given to God's law as a preparation of the Remnant church to leave earth's wilderness and enter the heavenly Canaan.

“Christ was the foundation of the Jewish economy. The whole system of types and symbols was a compacted prophecy of the gospel, a presentation in which were
bound up the promises of redemption…In every sacrifice Christ’s death was shown. In every cloud of incense His righteousness ascended. By every jubilee trumpet His name was sounded. In the awful mystery
of the holy of holies His glory dwelt.”

“The Jewish tabernacle was a type of the Christian church. . . . The church on earth, composed of those who are faithful and loyal to
God, is the "true tabernacle," whereof the Redeemer is the minister. God, and not man, pitched this tabernacle on a high, elevated
platform. This tabernacle is Christ's body, and from north, south, east, and west He gathers those who shall help to compose it. . . . A
holy tabernacle is built up of those who receive Christ as their personal Saviour. . . . Christ is the minister of the true tabernacle, the high priest of all who believe in Him as a personal Saviour.“

“The subject of the sanctuary and the investigative judgment should be clearly understood by the people of God. All need a knowledge for themselves of the
position and work of their great High Priest. Otherwise it will be impossible for them to exercise the faith
which is essential at this time or to occupy the position which God designs them to fill… It is of the utmost
importance that all should thoroughly investigate these subjects and be able to give an answer to everyone
that asketh them a reason of the hope that is in them.”
